I am servicing my home loan EMI through my Union Bank of India account. I initially made the EMI payment on 03 July, and it appeared as credited to my home loan account. However, due to some issue that was not communicated to me, the payment failed. Since the amount was reflected as credited, I was unaware that the EMI had not been successfully processed.
After receiving a notification regarding the failed payment, I immediately paid the EMI again on 16 July, and this payment was also reflected as credited to my home loan account. The EMI due date was 17 July, which means I had successfully paid the EMI before the due date.
Despite making the payment before the due date, ₹590 was deducted from my account as delayed payment/insufficient funds penalty charges, which is unreasonable and unfair. As the EMI was successfully paid before the due date, such penalty charges should not have been levied.
I request you to kindly reverse and refund the deducted amount of ₹590. If the charges were applied as per any rule or policy, please provide a detailed explanation along with the applicable reason and supporting details for the deduction.
I look forward to your prompt resolution Was this information helpful? |
