I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding a fraudulent and misleading interaction that resulted in an unauthorized personal loan application being submitted in my name.
On sept 1st 2026, I received a call from mobile number +91 [protected]. The caller introduced himself as an executive associated with ICICI Bank and stated that he could assist me in getting my personal loan sanctioned. Trusting his representation, I continued the conversation.
During the call, the executive requested OTPs sent to my mobile phone, claiming they were required for loan processing. However, I later discovered that the OTPs were used to create and submit a new loan application without my informed consent. At no point was I clearly informed that a fresh loan application was being submitted.
As a result of this unauthorized application, a hard inquiry was made on my credit report, which has negatively impacted my CIBIL score and credit history. I believe I was deliberately misled and deceived into sharing the OTPs.
I request that:
An immediate investigation be conducted into the activities of the executive using mobile number +91 [protected].
The unauthorized loan application be cancelled and removed from your records, if applicable.
Any credit bureau inquiry resulting from this unauthorized application be reversed or corrected to the extent possible.
Appropriate action be taken against the individual and any organization involved in this deceptive practice.
A written response be provided regarding the outcome of the investigation.
This incident has caused significant inconvenience and potential damage to my creditworthiness. I urge you to treat this matter with priority and take the necessary corrective action.
