India Moving Services — Delay in product delivery and demanding extra money

I had booked India Moving Services for shifting my household items from my residence in Thane to my native place at Narewadi, Kolhapur. The company confirmed a total shifting charge of ₹10, 500, which was agreed upon over WhatsApp. As per their demand, I made a full payment of ₹10, 500 via UPI on 26th August 2025 before pickup.

However, after pickup, the operator Mr. Vinay called and demanded additional money, stating that ₹10, 500 was only an “estimate” and the final bill would be calculated based on weight and dimensions. This condition was never communicated at the time of booking or payment.

When I refused to pay extra and requested my goods be returned, Mr. Vinay informed me that the items had already been moved without my consent and threatened that unless I paid the additional demanded amount, my goods would be withheld or forfeited. I also received a bill generated by the operator, which seeks additional charges over and above the agreed ₹10, 500.

This is a clear case of fraudulent and unfair trade practice, where the service provider:

Misrepresented the agreed cost.
Collected full advance payment and later demanded more.
Moved my goods without consent for revised charges.
Threatened to hold my household goods hostage until extra money is paid.

Hence, we seek Relief from you to -

1. Immediate release and safe delivery of my household goods currently being held by India Moving Services.

2. Action against Mr. Vinay and India Moving Services for cheating, fraud, and unfair trade practices.

3. Compensation and refund for mental harassment, financial loss, and stress caused by their malpractices.

4. Assurance that such fraudulent practices are stopped and penalized to safeguard consumer rights.
