Today, March 10, 2022, I saw an add of the furniture (copy of ad enclosed) on Quikr.
I contacted the seller Avdhesh Kumar who identified himself as an officer working in CISF in Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow. I asked for the ID of the person and the delivery guy. Both of them were using different names and bank account.
I spoke with him and wanted to see the furniture. However, he refused to show the furniture saying his house is in a restricted area and off limits to civilian access.
I negotiated the entire lot for Rs 40, 000. He asked for transferring Rs 20, 000 initially as an advance money and remaining amount to be paid after the delivery. The account name was also unusual since I never heard of it before.
Apparently before the shipment loading, the driver called in and asked to pay Rs 11500 towards insurance of the items which is refundable. Both of them insisted me to pay the remainder amount. I insisted to physically verify the items before making any further payment. I also asked this guy to let me physically verify the items to which he refused since he was working in a restricted zone.
I figured out it to be a phoney transaction and demanded a refund. He said the money will be put on hold for 6 months and the furniture. This is a very stupid statement and justification.
This whole thing turned out to be a scam.
I strongly urge the authorities to investigate this cheating gang.
