Recently we got membership in "International Health Club" in Chennai. At the time of joining, we were promised that the following facilities are available for the club members to use.
1. Well Equipped Gym
2. Restaurant with Good ambience
3. Badminton Court - indoor
4. Tennis court
5. Spa & Massage Parlour
6. Kids Zone
7. Conference Hall etc. etc.
Even their web site - http://www.theinternationalhealthclub.com had lot of flashy images about the facilities.
We were also promised that if the facilities are not to our expectations, then we can get refund of the fee paid and cancel the membership.
After gaining membership, we went to see the facility in Kanathur, Chennai. The resort there was pathetic without maintenance. The attendants were not amicable. There was no proper Gym (only a cycling equipment was available), Badminton court, tennis court, Restaurant to name a few.
To be frank, it was a drunkards' den. Even as individuals we won't dare to go and stay there. It was really scary.
Our intention at the time of joining was to have quality time with our family in the club resorts.
It was a totally disappointing experience. After the visit, we asked for refund and were informed by their staff that we need to send mail and wait for their response (email id - [protected]@theinternationalhealthclub.com). We were not even given a contact no. to check the status. We sent the mail on September 2013, the same month in which we got membership.
Till date, nothing has happened. Any assistance to get our membership fee back will be very helpful. Thanks.
