Sir,
I am software engineer rented a flat in Thane, with proper agreement. Due to some personal reason I moved from that flat. I have given one months notice to the landlord. Now landlord is saying he is going to deduct 2 months rent (Rs.34000-), brokerage (Rs.17000-) and agreement fees (Rs.2000-) from my deposit i.e. Rs.53, 000- from my deposit of Rs.75, 000-. Landlord only paid 12000- to broker as brokerage and agreement fees and now demanding Rs.19000 from me. I have stayed only four months in that flat. There is a locking period of 6 months stay, but also the agreement clearly says either party can give a notice of one month to terminate the agreement. Please suggest, what to do in this case.
:: Earlier, at the time of agreement broker told me (verbally) that I have to pay only one month rent as a fine if in case of agreement termination before locking period.
