[Resolved]  Jagdamba Medical Centre Gurgaon — Wrong Medical practice, asks for illogical money

I went to this hospital on 13th Oct. 2014 at 8:00 PM. A lady Mrs. Prem Lata was sitting at the doctor's desk gossiping with patients & pretended to be a doctor (I doubt, if she is a doctor) still I consulted with her about my son, she checked him up & shared her opinions & prescribed medicine on a rough sheet. That rough sheet was not given to me but was kept at a window behind her for the compounder, the compounder put some medicines in the bowl and passed on to her. She advised rest for my son, thus I asked her for the medical certificate to be presented in the school, on which she said, the medical will be issued by a separate doctor who will reach at 9:30 PM. And he would charge Rs. 150/- for prescription & medical certificate. She also asked me to pay her Rs. 200 (Rs. 50 for herself for her consultation & Rs. 150 for other doctor's prescription & medical certificate). I told her I would come at 9:30 PM & would consult that doctor only.I reached Jagdamba Hospital Gurgaon at 9:45 PM. Dr. Jaidev Kumar was sitting opposite to Mrs. Prem Lata & was treating a lady. I waited outside, then on my turn I went in & consulted him. He wrote a prescription & advised rest, then on my request after several refusals he prepared a medical certificate. Now, started the problem, I enquired about his fees & he told me Rs. 300/- (Rs. 150 for prescription & Rs. 150 for Medical). First I was reluctant to pay extra for a Medical certificate, because its a doctor's responsibility to issue the same, if he advices rest & if patient needs the medical for submission in school or office. Then, I played trick and asked him for receipts against both payments. But my trick failed & he denied treating my son!! I reminded him of Hippocratic Oath & that he cannot deny treatment. On this he said he is incompetent and took both the papers (prescription as well as medical) aside. This is really Unprofessional & a way of looting patients. I have been to many doctors & this kind of problem never happened. Now, due to some financial reasons, I went to them & saw an another phase of practice. I know how to react, but there are people who visit them & those who don't know. How would they raise their voice? Please help and keep a check on these unethical practices. If a doctor himself says, he is incompetent of treating a nominal throat infection & fever, then how can he treat other diseases!!
