Jbcn International School — Refund of Fees

We would like to lodge a complaint against JBCN school, Parel, Mumbai. We had applied for the IDBP program last October 2021 for the academic year 2022-23 and the school gave us the offer letter after a written examination and interview. The School immediately demanded admission fees of Rs 27, 500 and Tuition fees of Rs 2, 32, 212/- for Quarter I and Rs 2, 32, 213/- for Quarter II to secure admission for next year i.e. the Academic year 2022-23. We have paid the demanded amount in October 21 itself. The school also demanded Canteen fees of Rs 56, 000/- which were paid on[protected]. Before opening school for the Academic year 2022-23, again the school has demanded Tuition fees of Rs 2, 32, 212/- for Quarter III and Rs 2, 32, 213/- for Quarter IV which I paid on[protected]. The Deposit of Rs 60, 000/- was also paid on[protected]. The total amount of Rs 10, 74, 851/- was paid to the school before the actual start of the academic year. The school was opened on 21.07.2022. My son attended the school but was uncomfortable with the school environment, teaching method and technique, unavailability of subject of his choice and decided to leave school on 02.08.2022. Immediately on 03.08.2022, we informed the school about the withdrawal of admission and requested for refund of the amounts paid. Since he was not well in between, he could attend school only for 4 days. We were informed about the withdrawal procedure only on 22.08.2022 and refund of the only deposit amount of Rs 60, 000/- which is due after 2 months.

I would like to complain as under:-
1. The school has taken fees for All quarters in advance from us and whereas as per its circular, fees are due on a quarterly basis for other students
2. We informed the school immediately about the withdrawal of admission but the school has taken 20 days to answer the procedure.
3. The vice principal and council coordinator with whom we interacted while taking admission were not available after school started.
4. Canteen fees paid for the year in advance Rs 56, 000 but the food was consumed only for 4 days.
5. Even the amount of deposit of Rs 60, 000 was offered to release after 2 months.
6. The school is delaying procedure to inform and refund the amount and this is the harassment of parents and child’s future.
7. Interest amount is appox Rs 50, 000/- from the date of payment to the date of withdrwal of admission request.

Kindly help us to recover tuition fees, canteen fees and interest on school fees paid in advance from JBCN International School Yogi Mansion, CTS No- 244, Off Dr.S.S.Rao Road, Dr. Vinay Walimbe Road, Parel East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400012
