I booked Jindal Packers and Movers for shifting household goods from Delhi to Kolkata. Shri Navin from Jindal packers visited our house in Delhi and gave us the estimate. After that our household stuff was packed in cartons on the scheduled day. I immediately paid him the cheque for the whole amount. Things were fine till then. On the day of delivery in Kolkata the truck arrived in the morning without the loaders. I had to make many calls to send people to unload the truck. It was then i realised that they have a tie up with some other packer in Kolkata for unloading (though Mr. Navin had specifically told in the beginning that they have their full fledged office in Kolkata). Finally around 12:30 pm 4 people arrived to unload the truck.
The horror began as the cartons started coming out. They were fully drenched in water. My books were completely wet and my children''s paint books which i had preserved for last 10 years were destroyed. The clothes in the cartons were all wet and my wife's expensive sarees got damaged. Some of the cartons opened up as they were soaked in water and all the stuff came out.
Besides water problem, some of the cartons were eaten off by rodents.
I clicked photographs of the wet cartons and rodent eaten carton which are attached as evidence. I have many photos but this site uploads only two photos.
I called up Mr. Navin to complain. His response was "Sir ab kya kare, Driver ka galti hai". I also whatsapped him the photographs. Since then he is not picking up my calls.
