I purchased a gold stud at a shop in Erode, thinking there was a flat 50% discount on making charges. However, I was surprised to find there was no standard rate. I had to keep bargaining—initially, they said the making charge was 30%, and only after further negotiation did they reduce it to 15%, claiming it was the "flat 50%" offer.
Unlike online Jos Alukkas, where even a 4-gram gold ornament has a making charge of less than 5%, this felt unreasonable. Despite bargaining, I still ended up paying around 10%, and on top of that, I had to pay GST on the making charges too. Overall, I felt very cheated by the experience.
There is no flat rate if they can decide on the price for making charge of the ornament. Please dont fall for this offer. Was this information helpful? |
