Today (30th Nov, 2023) a representative from Indane (Indian Oil Corporation) visited my house & said they are collecting Rs 236 as a mandatory charge for registering the consumer for next 5 years. He randomly checked any excess cylinder availability in the house & verified the cylinder connected to gas stove in the kitchen area.
Then he started filling a checklist himself & asked my wife to sign and collected Rs 236 mentioning they are registering for next 5 years.
Problem here is how someone can certify a Gas cylinder usage condition for next 5 years through one inspection done for less than 5 minutes. There is no details (or) awareness on good practices given about usage of Gas cylinder & stove.
If Rs 236 collected for just 5 minutes inspection, how much this company will collect money from common people across India. This is a huge scam from my Point of view. Government needs to take essential steps to control this kind of activity. Was this information helpful? | 
I believe its the responsibility of the agency to inspect everytime they delivering the cylinder & that is why we are paying service charges for them.
Even if it was separate service also, it has to be part of every cylinder delivery or for every 3 cylinders delivery not once in 5 years.
