Subject: Refund of ₹7, 000 Security Deposit – Tenant Dispute Against Kripa Pandat
I, Akanksha Makwana, was residing as a paying guest tenant in a flat managed by Kripa Pandat in Mumbai. I vacated the flat in February 2025, yet my ₹7, 000 security deposit has still not been refunded to date — even after multiple follow-ups.
Important points:
1. I vacated the flat after arranging a replacement tenant, as per the agreement discussed. Kripa confirmed the replacement but still withheld the deposit without reason.
2. She did not prepare a rental agreement, despite several requests by me and other tenants.
3. I also experienced serious mismanagement — my personal clothes were stolen by a flatmate, Sharanya Gayakwad, and Kripa took no action.
4. The flat had strict rules (no non-veg, smoking, drinking), but these were openly violated by other tenants, and complaints were ignored.
5. She has not communicated any valid reason for the non-refund, and it’s now over 4 months overdue.
This is a clear case of financial misconduct, breach of trust, and tenant harassment.
I kindly request that necessary action be taken against Kripa Pandat, and my ₹7, 000 deposit be refunded immediately. If this is not resolved, I will be forced to proceed legally under the Consumer Protection Act and file a formal police complaint for breach of agreement and emotional distress.
