I purchased an LG Fully Automatic 5-Star Front Load Washing Machine on 20 August 2024. The machine is still under warranty.
Recently, I observed rust formation on the stainless steel drum inside the washing machine. Since the drum is advertised as stainless steel, rusting within such a short period indicates a possible manufacturing defect or poor material quality.
I lodged a complaint with LG Customer Care, and an LG technician inspected the machine. However, the technician refused warranty coverage, stating that you may use a local detergent and that only LG detergent should be used.
At the time of purchase, neither the product brochure, user manual, nor warranty terms informed me that warranty would be void if detergents other than LG-branded detergents were used. The machine has been used only for normal domestic purposes and suitable front-load detergents.
I request LG Electronics to honor the warranty and replace/repair the rusted drum free of cost. I also request LG to provide documentary evidence of any warranty condition requiring exclusive use of LG detergent.
I consider the denial of warranty on this basis to be unfair and a deficiency in customer service. Was this information helpful? |
