Updated by Amit Kumar 7860 Today, we are releasing our second major investigative report focusing on Lunar Astro, founded by Deepanshu Giri.
Through verified consumer complaints on platforms like Trustpilot and ConsumerComplaints.in, as well as digital forensic analysis, a disturbing pattern has emerged. What presents itself as a premium astrological academy and consultation service appears to be sustained by four pillars o[censored]nethical business practices: Bait-and-Switch consultations, Intellectual Property (IP) theft, coordinated digital intimidation, and aggressive SEO manipulation.
Here is what consumers need to know before handing over their money.
1. The "Bait-and-Switch" Consultation Scam
The most frequent and financially damaging complaint against Lunar Astro involves a classic "bait-and-switch" tactic.
Consumers are drawn in by Deepanshu Giri’s YouTube presence and marketing, paying premium fees—often upwards of ₹5, 000 to ₹8, 000—under the impression they are receiving high-level, expert analysis.
The Reality:
Proxy Astrologers: Clients wait weeks for an appointment, only to be offloaded to an inexperienced "panel astrologer" or proxy student (often referred to only by a code, such as "LA5007" or "LA5009").
Substandard Service: Verified Trustpilot reviews consistently report that these 30-minute sessions are rushed, generic, and heavily focused on negative "past life karma" rather than actionable guidance. In several cases, astrologers abruptly ended calls the second the 30-minute mark was reached, even mid-sentence.
Refusal of Refunds & Blocking: When consumers realize they have not received the service they anticipated and request a refund, Lunar Astro's customer service reportedly refuses or offers a mere 50% partial refund. If the consumer persists, they are routinely blocked across all communication channels.
2. Intellectual Property Theft: The "BCP" Controversy
A business built on selling knowledge must be scrutinized for where that knowledge originates. Multiple reports and testimonies from former associates allege that Lunar Astro’s foundational curriculum relies heavily on plagiarized methodologies.
Specifically, Deepanshu Giri is accused of taking the "BCP" (Bhrigu Chakra Paddhati) technique from his former teacher, Sunil John of Saptarishis Astrology. According to complaints, Giri repackaged this stolen intellectual property as his own original creation, renaming it "Paribhraman Paddhati."
Early iterations of the Lunar Astro website reportedly featured a "dedicated to Sunil John" disclaimer. However, once the course material was fully integrated and monetized, this attribution was quietly erased, allowing Lunar Astro to profit off another educator's proprietary research.
3. Manufacturing Consent: Troll Farms & Intimidation
How does a business with such severe consumer complaints maintain a 4.9-star rating on Google? The answer lies in manufactured consent and organized harassment.
Our investigation indicates that Lunar Astro utilizes a network of proxy students and loyalists (with names like Satvik Saini and Ajay Rajan frequently appearing in complaint logs) to act as a digital enforcement arm. This "troll farm" serves two purposes:
Review Spamming: Flooding platforms like Quora, Trustpilot, and Google with fabricated 5-star reviews and fake WhatsApp prediction screenshots to drown out legitimate customer grievances.
Silencing Critics: When genuine victims post negative reviews, this network activates. Whistleblowers and dissatisfied customers report receiving aggressive threats of "cyber cell tracking" and police action. These are legally baseless intimidation tactics designed to frighten consumers into deleting their honest reviews.
4. SEO Manipulation: "Domain Flooding"
To further suppress negative feedback, Lunar Astro employs a deceptive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactic known as "Domain Flooding."
Rather than operating a single, transparent business website, Giri operates a network of domains, including:
lunarastro.org (Academy & Courses)
lunarastro.com (Course Login & Booking)
consultlunarastro.com (Consultation Funnel)
By dominating the first page of Google search results with their own controlled domains and manufactured positive reviews, they successfully push legitimate consumer complaints, Reddit warnings, and Trustpilot 1-star reviews to Page 3 or beyond. This artificially tricks Google's AI Overviews into presenting Lunar Astro as universally acclaimed, effectively masking the underlying consumer fraud.
