I am writing this letter to formally lodge a cyber and financial fraud complaint against Manappuram Finance Ltd for providing incorrect account details during the settlement of a gold loan transaction, which directly resulted in financial loss and misappropriation of funds.
Detailed Incident Narrative
Background of the Transaction:
I was involved in the settlement of a gold loan under Loan Account Number [protected] (Customer ID [protected]) with Manappuram Finance Ltd. The total outstanding amount was Rs 291476.
During the settlement process an RTGS transfer of Rs 290000 was made. Out of this:
Rs 210000 was refunded or reversed to the source account.
Rs 80000 was handed over by the branch staff to the customer, Mr Shankar Mangla.
Fraudulent Actions by Manappuram Finance
During the settlement, Manappuram Finance provided incorrect account details, resulting in the gold loan amount being linked and credited to an unrelated or wrong account.
Upon questioning, the company was unable to justify why such incorrect account information was recorded and used in an official financial transaction.
Despite repeated follow-ups and requests for clarification, the company has neither corrected the error nor assisted in recovering the pending amount of Rs 15000.
This shows gross negligence, possible internal collusion, and a clear case of mishandling sensitive financial information.
Current Status of the Dispute
Total settlement amount: Rs 290000
Cash handed to the customer: Rs 80000
Amount returned: Rs 65000
Pending amount: Rs 15000
Despite several communications with Manappuram Finance officials, they have failed to resolve the issue or explain why an unrelated account was linked to my loan settlement. Their actions have caused direct financial loss and raise serious concerns of data misuse, financial fraud, and cyber negligence.
Relief and Action Requested
I kindly request the Cyber Crime Police Station to:
1. Register a formal complaint against Manappuram Finance Ltd for providing incorrect account details and misusing financial information.
2. Investigate the matter thoroughly, including internal communications, account linkage details, and transaction records.
3. Hold the company accountable for the loss caused and direct them to facilitate the recovery of the pending Rs 15000 from the concerned party.
I am prepared to provide all supporting documents, transaction details, communication records, and other evidence necessary to support this complaint.
