I am writing this email to compliant you about unnecessary surgery : c-sec for my wife lakshmi p babu under dr. Meera raveendran, daya general hospital (Medical center thrissur ltd)”, thrissur, kerala as per our observation and knowledge.
My wife lakshmi p babu, op no:dh2017/084868 was admitted on” daya general hospital”, thrissur, kerala on dec 1, around 2.30 pm due to c/o pain abdomen on her 38 week and 3 days of pregnancy (Full matured, edd 16.12.2017) under the treatment of dr. Meera raveendran. As per the “obstretic usg” baby presentation scanned on 13.12.2017 is cephalic (Longitudinal lie and the head enters the pelvis) and no complication expected as per the ultrasound and doppler during the all the regular checkups.
On dec 1st, the patient examined for uterus and she was suggested by doctor to wait for sever pain and admitted as her uterus was not opened for normal delivery. As per the doctor suggestion, fetal heart beat check was carried out on regular basis which was under 146 -140 range which is normal. This situation was continued till 3rd dec, but evening around 5.30 during the check, fetal heart beat found normal but mother “lakshmi p babu” verbal communication that she was not getting fetal movement compared to aftenoon baby movement (This could happened when the baby is matured and there is no much space for the movement or fetal enters the pelvic or)
As part of further medical procedure, the staff nurse started giving iv fluid post check with doctor “meera raveendran” over the phone (Doc was out of hospital) and directly recommended us for a c-sec as the mother is not getting baby movement and delivered a male baby by lsc/sa on 3.12.2017 on 7.17pm upon arrival of doctor on an emergency ambulance of hospital.
Here in this case they have not conducted checks like doppler movement checks and ultra sound scan to confirm the fetal movement is distructed due to any “obstrection o[censored]mbilical cord or any other case” as the mother will not get much movement when she nears to edd. This is a clear case of “medical negligence, unethical practice or behavior of a doctor or a hospital.
We feel the hospital is creating a situation to” panic the patient and their family to force them for c-sec which is life threating risk for mother for life time”. So we request you to take this as an compliant and take
Necessary enquiry and get us an explanation for the action taken by dr meera ravindran.
