Memories and moments is a sham.
Strong recommendation: don't judge the page by the number of likes. I have a feeling that it is fabricated. Sheer unprofessionalism shown by the boastful owner mr. Neel and team. It has been an utter waste of time and budget. My experiences listed below:
1. Pre-wedding:
A. Took an alto to the resort (2 hrs from kolkata) so offered to accommodate 3 photographers. Waited for more than an hour for them.
B. Learnt that the owner had also reached the resort in his hired vehicle. As expected the shoot was not completed. We had booked one room. Their demands:
I. Arrange for mr. Owner to return home
Ii. Drop the photographers till their doorstep (Not just the pickup point) or let 'them' - a bunch of strangers stay overnight in our room
Finally they stayed, we left.
C. Next morning, we reached the resort by 8am (Since shoot had to be completed by checkout time - 12pm). On entering the room (Filled with smell of smoke and alcohol), we were disgusted to see that our "professional" photographers were still on bed in their knickers nudging each other about going to the washroom first to freshen up. While one went to the washroom, the other continued to lay on the bed. We waited patiently!
D. Shoot completed on 4th september 2016. Wedding date was 5th feb 2017 and had to follow up 100 times to get the photos. Got the pre-wedding photos on 4th jan 2017 but did not receive the pre-wedding video till 1st feb.
2. Wedding prep –
A. From mid jan, i had successfully contacted all my vendors for preparations.
B. Regarding photography, i wanted to discuss the events in person as this was a cross cultural wedding. Forget meeting, the 'very busy' team refused to take calls.
C. I was tensed to the point when i was considering hiring another photographer. Finally, they contacted 2-3 days before the wedding.
3. Wedding / post wedding
A. I was shifting to delhi the next day after my wedding (6th feb), so asked for all the raw photos and also mentioned repeatedly that i am ready to make instant payment. No one came to deliver the photos.
B. On 10th feb, as i was travelling for my honeymoon i asked for a single wedding couple photo to which the very arrogant owner mr. Neel responded he can only share even a single photo once he has received his payment!
C. After returning, i made the payment and received raw photos. I was shocked and disappointed to see that i hardly had any bridal portraits (The likes of which are in their fb albums which had convinced me to book them on the first place).
When i mentioned this to them, mr owner neel responded: translated from bengali: "the photos that you see on facebook, they have paid 1 lac, they got married in hhi, swissotel, they look beautiful and they had good makeup on" this he repeated 2 - 3 times.
How can a photographer have the audacity to make a comment like this is beyond me. It is directly targeted at my societal and monetary status and my appearance!!!
D. Kept my calm as i had already paid 40, 000 for which i am supposed to get wedding photos –raw and edited and album.
4. From past 1 month, i have been hearing from the manager mr. Shubhojit that "my photo and video edit is going on" one fine day i am told that canvera has reversed the album since they want it in some other format and i must resend the photos. It instantly struck me that if album had gone for processing, the photo edit must have got completed. When i told them to send me the edited photos, mr. Neel replied only when i send the selected photos they will go for edit.
5. My husband called neel to ask for an update, to which he replied "aap mere malik nai ho", cut the phone and removed him from the whatsapp group!! This was all i could bear. I have undergone an ordeal of mental harassment and decided to put an end to this and get the pending items done by someone else.
Photographers like these should be hired only after recommendations from a known person as they might just spoil one of the biggest events of your lifetime.
