Mpokket Financial Services Private Limited — Complaint Against Harassment by mPokket Collections Team Despite Payment Confirmation

I am writing to formally register a complaint against mPokket (an NBFC) for harassment and unethical collection practices.

My EMI with mPokket was overdue for the past few months as I had lost my job. I recently secured a new job after six months o[censored]nemployment, and today I received a call from mPokket’s collection department regarding the overdue amount. I was informed that if I did not make the minimum due payment immediately, a notice would be issued against me.

To avoid any complications, I made the minimum due payment today itself, as instructed. I also received two email confirmations from mPokket acknowledging the payment. I immediately shared the confirmation screenshot with the collection agent and informed him that I am currently at my workplace.

However, despite submitting proof of payment, the collection agent has been continuously disturbing me. In the last 30 minutes alone, I received more than 20 calls, including normal calls and WhatsApp calls, all from different numbers. Each time, they repeatedly asked for the same transaction screenshot which I had already shared. This behavior is extremely harassing, unprofessional, and mentally distressing, especially while I am at work.

Such harassment puts my newly secured job at risk. I clearly state that if I lose my job due to this continuous disturbance by mPokket’s collection agents, then mPokket must take full responsibility and compensate for my expenses until I secure another job.

I request the Consumer Grievance Authority to kindly look into this issue urgently and take strict action against mPokket for violating fair collection practices, causing unnecessary mental harassment, and threatening my livelihood.
