I am Jitaditya Saha, father of Triyan Saha, a student in the Nursery section at Narayana School, Rishra branch.
I am writing to express my concern regarding multiple discrepancies and lack of transparency that I have experienced during and after the admission process for my child.
1. Lack of Transparency in Fee Structure:
At the time of admission, I was informed by Nisha Ma’am that the total cost for the Nursery section would be ₹58, 520, broken down as follows:
• ₹10, 000 – Admission Fees
• ₹1, 000 – Application Form Fees
• ₹47, 520 – Tuition Fees
However, after admission, several additional charges were introduced, including:
• ₹1, 800 for the school bag in the 1st Quarter
• ₹1, 500 for the student ID card
• ₹6, 000 for Smart Class in the 2nd Quarter
These charges were never disclosed during the admission process, and such sudden additions feel like a deliberate withholding of information until the student is enrolled.
2. Questionable Mandatory Items:
• The school bag provided is of noticeably low quality and yet priced unusually high. Why is it mandatory to purchase this specific bag from the school when better-quality alternatives are available in the market at a lower price?
• Similarly, why are we being charged separately for the student ID card after paying the admission fee? Isn’t such a basic identity provision supposed to be included as part of the initial administrative costs?
3. Smart Class Fees Should Be Optional:
The ₹6, 000 Smart Class fee was communicated much later and is being treated as a mandatory charge. If Smart Class is compulsory, it should have been included in the tuition fees and disclosed upfront. If it is optional, parents should have the right to opt out.
4. Broken Promises Regarding Fee Discount:
During the admission process, Papia Ma’am clearly informed us that a special discount of ₹5, 000 would be provided, to be adjusted against the tuition fee. Unfortunately, this commitment is now being denied by the school without clarification.
5. Lack of Timely Communication:
These updates and charges are being shared quarter by quarter, after the admission is already secured. This piecemeal disclosure of costs creates both financial strain and distrust among parents. Why aren’t all charges communicated transparently at the beginning?
I chose Narayana School believing in its academic standards and professional integrity. However, such incidents raise serious concerns regarding the school’s communication and fee policies. I request your immediate attention to the following:
• Provide a clear and complete fee structure including any mandatory charges upfront.
• Justify the necessity and pricing of items like school bags and ID cards.
• Make Smart Class charges optional or include them transparently in tuition fees.
• Honor the promised ₹5, 000 discount as per the verbal commitment during admission.
• Ensure that no further hidden charges are introduced mid-session.
I sincerely hope the school management will take this feedback seriously and work toward maintaining transparency and trust with parents.
Looking forward to a prompt and fair resolution.
