I contacted a dealer ( DAKSH ARORA / DINESH ARORA) dealing in refurbished laptops and MacBooks and introduced myself as a reseller to get better pricing. He offered me a MacBook for ₹48, 000. Upon asking about the condition, he informed me that it was used with minor scratches or dents. I specifically requested a unit with a clean body and fresh keyboard, for which he demanded an additional ₹2, 500, making the total ₹50, 500, which I agreed to pay.
He asked for an advance payment of ₹4, 000 to prepare the device as per my requirement, which I paid. When I requested a video call to verify the unit, he delayed. I then sent my driver for inspection, who found visible dents, scratches, and the display rubber coming off. Upon informing the dealer and sharing photographic proof, he denied the defects and later stated that such issues are normal in used products. When questioned about the additional ₹2, 500 charged for better condition, he became rude and refused to refund the advance.
The next day, he kept me waiting with false assurances of refund but stopped answering my calls. On messaging him, he responded casually and later used inappropriate and threatening language, challenged me to take action, and refused to return my money. He also made irrelevant demands for my business details and asked me to sign a written statement, which is unjustified.
This clearly amounts to cheating, misrepresentation, and unfair trade practice. Despite multiple reminders via calls and WhatsApp, he has failed to refund my payment.
I request strict action against the dealer and assistance in recovering my ₹4, 000.
