Nissan Datsun Motors — defective vehicle

I brought a new datsun redigo automatic car from ritu nissan on 26 th november 2018 for rs 565000/-. Within 10 days of purchase - the car stopped suddenly while in motion!!! No warning. No indication. Could have been potentially dangerous. Nissan took the vehicle for repairs (In another city) but could not find anything wrong so just returned the vehicle after clearing logs..
The vehicle stopped suddenly again. This time i refused to collect the vehicle till they certify that everything is in order. They found out that a mandatory pre - delivery process was not carried out on the vehicle!!!
Imagine purchasing a vehicle worth 5.5 lakhs only to be saddled with a half baked product. They carried out the patch and returned the vehicle. The vehicle is stable since then but i am always worried /tensed when i drive the vehicle. One never knows when it will stop.

There was another problem too. I found that out later. Odd it may sound, the vehicle owner name in nissan books was other than me. I highlighted this to nissan in february /march 2019. They did not correct it then. The battery too had to be replaced within one year and so too the central locking.in all this tumult, the dealer was quite and hardly responded. The dealer was just not bothered. For him, palming off the car to someone seemed most important. Me thinks, that perhaps nissan was upto no good and had actually sold a refurbished vehicle to me. The owner name remained different in their books (Till september 2019).

If this had happenned in some other country there would have been huge penalties on nissan - but not here in india. I complained to consumer helpline. But wastrels all. They accepted the contention of the dealer (Copy of rc showed that i was the first purchaser). They never questioned the dealer on his blunders. Never. Will a car dealer not know the tricks to hide / delay registration??

When i went in for the purchase - it being a japanese car seemed enough. But i later realised that was only namesake. This company lacks ethics completely. Devoid of morals too. Its staff are blatantly cavalier and callous. And just does not respond to a customer with respect. They just interested in 'palming off' vehicles. Just that.

And in this country - jaago grahak jaago is a myth. The consumer helpline does not do anything. It lacks teeth. Just a messenger / sorter of messages. Better perhaps is to file complaint with district forums of consumers. (I am in the midst of filing one).

I wanted to sell the vehicle but could not bring myself to sell it to some gullible buyer. It is a matter of life and death for the purchaser. So instead brought it myself (It was in my company name earlier). Just about completed 10000 kms in one year

For keeping the price low and selling cheap they have put in all low quality parts. Do not be fooled by the japanese name and cheap price. It is a faulty, defective vehicle. Something or the other would be wrong. No after sales support from dealer. They did repair the vehicle but only after persistent complaining. And the dealer that repaired was different (In another city) than the one that sold. Absolute charlatans. Do not ever be swayed by japanese name. There are much much better vehicles of other manufacturers with better features at a slightly higher price.

I realised much to my chagrin - japanese too are pedestrians and are immoral cheaters. Better to go in for maruti or hyundai. They have been around for sometime now. And better to go in with a known devil rather than unknown cheap namesake petty god. And there is absolutely no help after purchase. Absolutely none. One is entirely on one's own. Government is useless. Does not even have basic consumer protection laws. None whatsoever.
