This is with regards to the exorbitant fees being charged by Orchids The International School. Below are few issues which we would like to raise on Orchids The International School, Thane.
1. The Fee for a 1st Grader is 97500 (for academic year 2017-18) per year which excludes Uniform, Books, Transport & Annual activities (picnic, annual day & PTA formation) which is another[protected]. The fees charged by this school is easily 20%-30% higher than the schools providing similar or better curriculum and facilities. The fees has been escalated by around 12% compared to last year.
2. Every year the school charges an ANNUAL FEE component (this year it is 18000) which has never been explained to us of what does this consist of
3. There was no PTA formed last year and the Executive committee details were also not shared with parents. This is flouting the prescribed norms by government
4. The updated school fees was informed 24 days before the start of the new term. This was intentionally done so that the parents don’t get an option to switch to another school
a. Fee communication to parents: 10-Mar
b. School Opening date: 3-Apr
5. Even before sharing the school fees with the parents, the school asked the parents to write the application for the LC for their child with a deadline of 15-Feb post which the parents will be liable to pay the First term fees which for the 1st grader is coming up to 24000. This clearly shows the intent of holding the parents at ransom
