Oven Fresh Bakery — First birthday cake was delivered late and damaged

For Sunday morning at 11 AM, I placed an order for a 2.5 kg Cocomelon car/bus cake. However, the cake did not arrive until 11:40 AM. I had hoped that the cake would be good, but unfortunately, cake was stuck to the top of the box and the fondant was fully stuck to the top of the box. I had paid ₹3750 for this cake.

I have been waiting for approximately 1.5 hours, and the cake has been taken back to the bakery to do patchworks. It is currently 12 PM.

I ordered the cake for my son’s first birthday. This situation has caused me significant inconvenience and frustration. I have been waiting for 1.5 hours while keeping my guests waiting at my home for over 1.5 hours. This is not the first time that I have experienced this issue. In 2022, I had a negative experience with an oven-fresh cake.

I had decided to trust the Ovenfresh and give them another chance. However, this is how I am repayed for most of my son’s first birthday cake. Many children have already gone home by the time I received the cake.

The Ovenfresh staff Mr.Lokesh and Mr. Akash informed me that the cake would be transported via auto for 25 km, from Siruseri to East Tambaram. They had assured me that they follow this practice for all cakes and that the cakes would be fine.

I have attached a photograph of the cake when it was delivered to the Ovenfresh outlet and after the patchwork is done . This is the worst kind of bakery and service that one can provide.

Also I have took video of the staff with me stating that cake was supposed to deliver at 10.30 but the time cake arrived is 11.40 and time then was 12.15 and still patchwork was going on the cake. But the staff Mr. Lokesh refused to get filmed which is well within his rights to do so I accept that. But what followed was not acceptable, the then mentioned that cake will be delivered only if I delete the video which was paid for and settled. He consistently evaded my requests by providing a time estimate of five minutes. He had mentioned this time at least five times before obtaining the cake. If he had explicitly stated that the patchwork design on the cake would require at least thirty minutes or more, I would have opted to purchase an alternative cake and proceed with my celebrations. I was standing in front of the billing area and loudly calling for anyone who was there, even though he was in the back. He did not respond for a full ten minutes. By that time, I would have obtained the alternative cake and proceeded with my celebrations.
