I am writing this with immense disappointment and frustration after our recent stay at Parakkat lodge sorry "Resort", which turned out to be a classic example of how a hospitality business should not operate. What was marketed as a premium resort experience turned into an emotionally and physically draining ordeal. The glaring issues we faced are detailed below — not just for your awareness, but for your serious introspection.
1. Payment First, Service Never
Insisting on full payment before check-in and then denying access until the last rupee is paid is a disgraceful practice. This left us feeling trapped and helpless. Once inside, we were greeted not by comfort, but by a series of shocking surprises — from substandard rooms to pathetic service.
2. Rooms: Grossly Overpriced, Shockingly Underwhelming
The rooms were nowhere near worth what we paid for a two-day stay. Basic amenities were lacking, maintenance was poor, and the overall ambiance did not reflect even a fraction of the premium price tag. It felt like a cruel joke on paying guests.
3. Food: A Recipe for Disaster
Though the menu offered a wide range of items, the execution was appalling. Poorly cooked non-vegetarian items made us physically ill — yes, stomach upset on a vacation — which ruined an entire day for us. The lack of hygiene and quality in food preparation is not just disappointing — it is dangerous. This is a clear violation of basic food safety standards.
4. Parking Chaos: Designed for Disaster

The pool was filthy, smelly, and clearly neglected. Worse, it seemed to be part of someone else's property rented out to the resort — completely unacceptable and misleading. Calling this a “resort facility” is a mockery.
6. Unreachable Staff: Mr. Anirudh Nair — Invisible Man
Mr. Anirudh Nair, who claimed to be the reservation manager, was responsive only until the advance payment hit your account. Post-payment, he vanished — no replies to messages, no response to calls, and nowhere to be seen in the resort. This is deceptive conduct at its worst.
7. Unusable Lift: A Backbreaking Welcome
The lift was non-functional throughout our stay. Guests, including elderly people, had to carry their own luggage up and down stairs. What kind of hospitality forces guests to struggle this way after charging a premium?
8. False Promises: Driver Food Commitment — Blatant Lie
We were promised that food would be provided for our driver from the staff kitchen. Not only was this promise broken, but not even a cup of tea was offered. This isn’t just poor service — it’s sheer negligence and dishonesty.
9. No Dormitory or Help for Driver Stay: Completely Heartless
Parakkat Resort shockingly offers no dormitory or alternative accommodation for drivers, a basic courtesy even budget hotels provide. To make matters worse, the staff had the audacity to suggest pay ₹3, 000 for another room for the driver, instead of at least recommending nearby budget stays or homestays. This clearly exposes the resort’s blatantly money-minded attitude and total lack of humane hospitality.
10. Fake Adventure Activities: A Complete Scam
Jeep safari within the campus, advertised as “Jeep Trekking, ” was nothing more than a short, underwhelming ride of less than 1 km on a concrete road.
Final Words: This Was Not a Vacation — It Was a Betrayal
Parakkat Resort gave us not memories but misery. From hygiene to hospitality, from honesty to human decency — everything was sorely lacking. Your priority seems to be collecting money upfront, and once that’s done, guests are left to deal with broken promises, poor facilities, and false advertising. Be assured that this complaint will be made public on travel platforms and forums to protect other unsuspecting guests from facing what we went through.
If this is your idea of a “resort, ” it’s time to rethink your values — urgently.
