I, prakriti varshney, have been contacted by pier point international for a job opportunity in mondetta clothing, canada in april 2017. After sending my resume, sample work and interview questionnaire, i was emailed a job offer letter in my name on may 13th 2017 along with lmia - labour market impact assessment, cic - citizenship and immigration canada and acknowledgement letter from mondetta clothing. After all the paper work done, i was asked by pier point international to contact mr. Marcus erikson, alleged immigration officer - canadian consulate, chennai. Mr. Marcus asked me to forward scanned copies of my birth certificate, photograph, passport and a filled work permit visa application form on may 24th 2017 for work permit and visa application. After i emailed him all the above stated documents, on june 1st 2017 he asked me to transfer inr 32, 025 in bank account of vincent p. Victor (Account no. [protected], union bank) for visa file activation. I was aware of the fact that any processing fees for visa processing and work permit is submitted through dd/cheque in favour of high commission and never in any personal account. After i confirmed the same with the high commission of canada, new delhi, i contacted nish verma (Vp-human resource of mondetta clothing) through linkedin to enquire about my employment in their company. He denied any such recruitment and informed that i am being scammed. I also emailed on june 2nd to hr (At) mondetta.com for a confirmation of my employment to which i have not received any reply.
On june 6th, i emailed pier point international that i will submit the asked amount only after i get a direct confirmation from mondetta clothing about my employment. On june 7th, i received a call from canada (Plus[protected] stating the person was calling from mondetta clothing and i am required to pay inr 32, 025 as asked by pier point international and mr. Marcus to quickly start my visa processing. After i checked the number on true caller, i got to know it was registered in the name of fibernetics corporations. Then today june 8th, i received an email from a fake domain email id (Noreply (At) mondettaclothing.co) as a confirmation for my employment.
This whole job offer was a hoax and i am afraid that my documents i. E., passport, photograph, birth certificate and signature can be misused by these scammers. I request you to file an fir and take due action against pier point international and marcus erikson. Please involve high commission of canada, chennai and new delhi to put a stop on such scams.
