Podar International School — Monopoly in buying school uniform and books from specific vendor and also increase in school fees

Hi,

My son is studying in Podar School, Maneja since Sr. KG. I have noticed that school is not meant for studying but doing a business of money. They have appointed one online vendor from which we have to purchase Uniforms and Books. The price o[censored]niform is 3X then normal vendor. Also for books set they are charging too high prices. They are not giving option to buy from outside, we have to mandatory buy from this vendor. Moreover, vendor is charging shipping charges more than 300 rs which is not acceptable, also while making online payment they are taking convenience fee more that 250 which is just a waste of money.

School is taking un due advantage of the parents who accept it silently but this is totally not fair to charge any amount for this normal things.

I have also observed that they have increased school fees by 15% without any notice to parents. They should communicate well in advance to all parents about the change. They are refraining in sharing the new school fees, looks like they are doing some fishy things. I have highlighted this through this portal, if my information reached to concern person, I urge to take action on this school ASAP. Thanks in advance for your support.

i too face the same issue. they have not printed rates on a single book. 4600rs for JrKG books? this is loot. i have found an alternate to the uniform, so that is bit relief. Something needs to be done!!

The schools are turning into scoundrels. I had my 1st child admitted quiet early, and after a few years my second child. The prices of the books were already high but now I find that I am paying around 50% higher for the books of my second child than what I paid for my 1st. Schools are no longer a respectable institution. The principle comes routinely to the classes and scolds the teachers in front of the kids - because the top-management is pressurizing them into unnecessary gimmicks. What are they trying to prove? And how would be the morale of the teachers and their motivation. They are giving their own brand of books instead of NCERT's at exorbitant rates, that has lots o[censored]nnecessary and useless lessons especially in history, and then they can't even finish 20% of the book.

Pathetic!! I am talking of PODAR Ahmedabad
