My passport has been dispatched to SUNAM (PIN code: 148028) on 9th May, 2016 (Tracking no.: PP[protected]IN). Post man from the office did not come for the delivery. I checked the status online and sent my father to post office ( since I am at Chandigarh for some work). Post man confirmed passport has come, but he denied to give it to my father as he wanted the main applicant. My wife is pregnant and and she is at her parents home( other place). My father is not educated and I spoke postman as well as manager over phone and told all the story. But both of them strictly denied to deliver the passport and said that they will deliver to the APPLICANT ONLY.As Per Governmnet Of India Ministry Of Communications & It Department Of Post Business Development And Marketing Directorate Also, The speed post articles containing passport is addressee specific. Such article may be received “ Either by the addressee or authorized representative on behalf of the addressee” as has been prescribed by BD & M Directorate OM NO.57-01/2010-BD&MD Dated 1st June, 2010 that lays down the procedure for delivery of speed post articles. Also, as per Passport office rules : It is advisable that the applicant himself collect the passport from the postman. In case of absence of the applicant, it is at the discretion of the postman to hand over the envelope to some family member of the applicant by checking their/applicant's ID proof or to return the passport to the issuing Regional Passport Office. I want you to take serious action on this, since we should stop such a bribing/corruption idiotic misbehavior in the government offices. I strongly believe you take action on this.
