For my disease the doctor Dr. Pravin Patil prescribed hydroxychloroquine. Sad part is this medicine has a nasty side effect.
After few months of prolonged treatment I developed retinopathy and partly lost my eyesight. However due to god's grace and eye specialist doctors treatment I finally recovered more than 95%. I sincerely thank god and the eye specialist for their kind grace.
In about 15 - 20% of patients taking this medicine there's a high chance of developing retinopathy. There are research papers (not useless internet information) stating this fact and correlation.
I would better live with the diseases but take such dangerous treatment. It is responsibility of the doctor to let the patient know of the dangers of the treatment.
