Punjab Technical University Complaints & Reviews

The PTU announced a datesheet for B.Tech students in which the exams were starting from 13th of January. Although the datesheet was a proposed one, it was good and suitable for students.
But after a couple of days, the announced a new different datesheet in which the exams are starting from 19th of december, which is also proposed. We all the students are in a great trouble. Some of our papers are clashing too. Moreover, we have to give two exams in a single day. Please help us.

I m a student of Punjab technical university, i m facing mainly two problems regarding the criteria o[censored]niversity.
1. Date sheet.
* Most of the time i have seen that the date sheet they make completely sucks. Question arises "WHY ?".
~No Sufficient Holidays
~Evening and morning periods of exam time
Example-a student is having a exam in morning as well as evening.
Means 6 hours of exam ! which is completely annoying.

Secondly, 1 exam in present day evening and next exam in next morning. WHERE IS THE TIME TO REVISE THE SYLLABUS ?

I don't know how they make the datesheet, they should think about the students, that they need proper time to study. Well i think in this matter PTU sucks.

And yes most importantly, the idea of proposed datesheet which is completely a thing.If they make a proposed datesheet, it should not be displayed on internet, it should be either mailed or faxed to the principal of respective colleges.


Punjab Technical University should put their eye towards that >!

2. Exam Results.
~ Late Result Problem.
~ Checking problem.
Late Result Problem -
We know that there are several PTU colleges and several branches under them, and checking exam papers is difficult. Still, they are responsible for that, not us.

Result comes like when a new semester is near to a end .!!!
that is a ...!

Result should be displayed within 1-2 months. not more than that.

~ Checking problem
To be very honest i haven't faced much difficulty in checking of my exam papers, i get the marks close to what i expect. But many of my friends, college mates experienced the problem.

Via Consumer Complaints, i would like Punjab Technical University to Change there criteria of handling both the problems.

I am doing MCA from punjab technical university. And I have given my 4th semester exams in nov. 2007 and my marksheet is not came yet. And My 5th semester exams was conducted at march 2008, and i given all papers, but they are showing that i am absent in papers. So in this way, my one year will be wasted. So please reply me that what should I do against university and my institute SIMS. They can't play with student's future.

My name is Harjeet Singh, Student of Punjab Technical University, M.Sc (IT), Roll # - [protected], Study center - Genius Informatics, South-X, Delhi.


My problem is with the results for our re-appear examinations. I re-appeared in the 2nd sem. exam of "Networking" in the Year 2006 & for the "MIS" exam for the 4th sem. in March 2007, but the results for the same are unknown as yet.


I've sent 5-6 mails to PTU, but no response from anyone as yet!! Is there someone who can help me out with this?? It's very strange that no one cares to acknowledge the queries from students at PTU. I have posted my query on the Students Enquiry section with Query ID - 9787, but no one cares to reply to that too. Even the Study Center is unable to help us on this matter. They are just making money & playing with the career of the students.


For how long do we need to wait for the results??? Our study center "Genius Informatics" is not having any answers to our questions. Is it that tough to declare the results even after such long time??? We have our career goals to achieve & can't wait for a long time for our results.

My name is Amandeep, course-MCA, student in GCS-9, Chandigarh. On dated-12 Sep, 2008, in MCA- Principle of Management, exam. teacher in room no- 15, Sanjay Public School-44, chd., illegally support two student in written-out paper from taking support from book and change their seats continously. I has told to one old gent's teacher to take some action.

I am Rajesh Kashav, doing B-Tech in mechanical engineering from Guru Gobind Singh College of Modern Technology, Distt:- Kharar, Punjab with 78% marks (roll number[protected].

Now I, am in 7th semester, the result of 5th semester shocked me, when I got a reappear in subject name Numerical Methods (result came on 24th of May 2008).
I have never expected reappear in this subject. In class test I have scored 40 out of 40, and in final exam which is checked in Punjab Technical University gave me only 5 mark out of 60.

From high school exam onward I have never failed in any subject whether in class test or final exam.

After seeing my result without wasting any time I filled re-evaluation form and fees and submit it. After 15-20 days the result of re-evaluation come but my name is not on board.

I called my teachers to what to do now. They said me that I should write a letter to principal for getting my result from University. I write the letter to principal (on 11/07/08) and he assured me that result will come soon.

After that many time I called principal for my but nothing happened. I also called vice chancellor of PTU regarding this matter but they said that there are four lakh student in university what can they do.

I have called media person also but they said that they need bigger news. I thinks of doing suicide in front of college or university and writing a statement of there doings and making news bigger for media, but that will not solve my problem but creates problem for other outstanding students as the name of college and university fades.

Till now I am waiting for my result and no body is doing there duty to get my result out form university. Many of persons says me to give them bribe, or if I have any contact at top levels then contact them.

I am very much harassed, mentally upset with this kind of behavior of college and university staff.

I passed my MBA finance from PTU delhi in 2006, I am still missing with my 1st and 3rd Semester mark-sheet.

Sir, I am a distance education student of Punjab Technical University. I had completed mba through the Institute of csi(saket) delhi sep-2007 year . My role number is [protected].Now, after almost 4 years, I have not got degree and result of sem-3(exim done in 2006) of my MBA. I am having lot of problems due to this. I am not able to get admission in any further advance courses nor I am able to get any job. It is spoiling my career. I have done the Polytechnic Diploma from the Haryana Board of Technical Education (Nilokheri). I got enrolled for the BSc-IT (LE) 3rd Semester thru the Aim Computer, Gurgaon. I got the books and appeared for the exams too. Now the LC guys told me that I got the admission in 1st semester and I didn’t appear for any of the exam. I don’t know what is going on. I think they made some mistake while sending the details to PTU. The form filled by me has clearly mentioned BSc-IT LE (3rd Semester).

My Roll# was –[protected], RC Code – BS, LC Code – 599. I have submitted the fees for 4th semester and got the books too. Now they are saying that I have to appear for 2nd semester.

at the website of distance education of PTU there is information about the availabilty of MBA IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT course at selected learning centers but there is no information available on which lerning centers this course is available.

i am a student of distance learning mba course MBA PRO[protected] from panvic institute of management and technology, lucknow affiliated to punjab technical univeristy, jalandhar. my second semester paper 1 result was declared after one year on march 2007 in which i got back paper.i gave the paper in april 2007 and march 2008 but still i have no information of my result although i have visited the university in oct 2007 where i got the result of april 2008 exam and i applied for reevaluation for which the result should be declred by 1 week which is still not declared.
my career is at stake and i am helpless in the hands of the official o[censored]niversity
i have also sent them notice for the right of information but i think they dont fear the law at all

Punjab technical university distance education has very poor administration. I gave mba 1st sem exam in sept.2005 and till date i am waiting for my results. My roll number is [protected]. I also did bsc in 2004 and still waiting for degree. It is 2007 now. If anyone knows how to get the result and degree, pls let me know.
