My daughter, Aalisha Chaturvedi, aged 16 years was admitted to the hospital on 7th Apr 2026 for EPS and RFA, for treatment of heart arrythmias which had been diagnosed by the Dr Debabrata Bera who was treating her. It was explained to us that by doing a 2D EPS (electrophysiology Study) and RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation) the arrythmias would be taken care of and tachycardia can be avoided. We admitted her on 7th for the procedure. After starting the procedure, the doctor came out and conveyed to us that RFA cannot be done as she has a blocked IVC (inferior vena cava). Therefore, no procedure was done. she was kept in room for observation, and the doctor discharged her on 8th Apr 26. We paid the full bill of Rs.171, 588/- and got her out. We found that we had been wrongly charged Rs.23, 984/- for ABLATION CATHERER which would be used only if the RFA had been done. We took this up with the hospital but the refused to return the money. The charge has been made to us on 8.4.2026, a day on which nothing was done. This is complete medical malpractices on excess cost being taken from the patient, without doing the procedure.
