Radha Automobiles — improper timing chain installation and engine damage splendor

Dear Hero MotoCorp Customer Care Team,

I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding the service of my Hero Splendor Plus motorcycle at Radha Automobiles, Tambaram, Chennai, in July 2026.

During that service, the timing chain was replaced. However, I suspect that it was not installed or tightened properly. Yesterday, my motorcycle broke down, and I had to tow it to Srihari Automobiles, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai, for inspection and repair.

After inspecting the vehicle, the staff at Srihari Automobiles informed me that the timing chain may not have been installed properly during the previous service and that the camshaft was also bent. They advised that the engine requires rework and estimated the cost at approximately ₹18, 000. They have also provided photographs of the affected parts and the inspection findings.

My motorcycle is only three years old, and the engine had been performing well before the timing chain replacement. I am therefore concerned that the present engine damage may be related to improper installation or workmanship during the previous service.

I do not believe it is fair for me to bear the full cost of major engine repairs if the damage was caused by improper workmanship at an authorised service centre.

I request Hero MotoCorp to:

Register and investigate my complaint regarding the timing chain replacement performed at Radha Automobiles, Tambaram.
Review the photographs and technical findings provided by Srihari Automobiles.
Arrange a proper technical inspection to determine the root cause of the engine damage.
Provide a written explanation regarding the failure and whether it is related to the previous service.
Arrange the necessary repairs with appropriate support from Hero MotoCorp, including consideration of a no-cost repair or reimbursement if the damage is confirmed to have resulted from improper service workmanship.
I have trusted Hero MotoCorp for the quality and reliability of its products. I request your intervention to resolve this matter fairly and ensure that I do not incur unnecessary expenses due to a service-related issue.

Please register my complaint, provide a complaint reference number, and advise me on the next steps as soon as possible.
