I am a parent of 2 students at Gurujukam and this review is after 4 years at Gurukulam, Love the place beyond words and it has done magical changes in every aspects of our kids life. Will try to address some of the concerns raised by one of the reviewer and sharing my email id ([protected]@gmail.com) here as one can contact me if they have any questios.
Following are the problems faced by almost all the parents.
1) Poor quality of teachers with low academic qualification. Very poor pay to teachers so they are not highly motivated..
Allmost all teachers are either BEd or DEd and are certified by govt, besides this most have come from the professional fields so either they had BE, CA, CS or other qualifications before pursuing BEd./ DEd as per govt mandate
2) No science lab. No school building or Internet after 6 years of existence...
There is a new School Building, yes Science lab is not that great but it is there and students learn through lot of practical experiments. There is Jio 4G connection since 2017 and it works great
3) No smart class yet. Nowadays even basic S.S.C medium schools in Mumbai has smart class. They don't have INTERNET also!!
Many kids learn through Khan academy for additional learnings, there is Robotics class, special STEM classes for interested students
4) Very poor living condition for residential kids like rooms & no beds given for sleeping. POISONOUS SNAKES LIKE COBRA ARE REGULARLY SIGHTED.
It's a perspective, every student has nice mattress and comforter for sleeping, yes as the school is surronded by nature we do sight snakes but in the 9 year history of school not even one incident of poisonous bite has happened. Students get trained on how to recognize snake type and how to handle them
5) Poor quality of food served in kitchen.
Kids get balanced diet which is designed by Kitchen team in consultation with our inhouse Doctor and dieticians. School serves 4 meals from Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner besides a fruit break at 11:00. It;s a full meal with Daal, rice, roti, bhaji and salad
6) Frequent change of subject teachers & kitchen staff. Lots of trial & error happening with staff.
In last 4 year since we came only couple of teachers have left and new ones have joined, unlike private school where 50% of staff changes every year
7) Total indiscipline among which goes unpunished & unnoticed.
Kids are taught freedom with responsibility and there is system to manage indiscipline in case it happens
8) Main focus on selling valley view villas & scope camps. So no focus on improving quality of education.
Lot of focus is given by Manoj ji, Acharya ji (Shrinivasji), teachers and management on how to improve the level of education and make it a wholesome experience rather than just academic focused
9) The director Mr.Manoj Lekhi is most of the time traveling. He hardly stays there to look after day to day working hence quality is compromised.
Manoj ji is in campus quite often and always addresses students and family members, even students attend scope camps that he takes for outsiders
10) Thefts from kids cupboards.
11) No proper system to check health & hygiene of kids. Most of the kids suffer from skin, eye, teeth infections. No hygiene lessons given to kids by school at all.
There is a qualified residential doctor in school, She takes special sessions for students on hygiene and sex education besides full checkup twice a year
12) No carom, chess, badminton, Table tennis etc sports.
There is chess club, in fact kids go for outside tournaments every 2-3 months, there is TT group and carrom that students enjoy in their free time. Cricket coach also comes every Saturday-Sunday for special training. This is besides 2 in house sports teachers who are there in capus all the time
13) Swimming in muddy, dirty water lake where village buffaloes also bath!! this causes eye infections to kids.
Till March end there is enough water in the lake so it is not muddy and have not seen buffaloes in the area where students go
14) Theft of kids slippers, sandles is very common. My kid lost 10 pairs in 8 months!!
It's not theft, sometime kids wear each others footwear but then they are found again within the campus
15) Dance & Music sir comes only when kids have to do any show to public for their admission purpose. Kids are used as their marketing tools.
We do get art, dance and music teacher based on the preplanned schedule. Art, Tabla, Cricekt coach sir comes every week, there is in house Music teacher
16) No proper utilization of drawing teacher who stays in campus full time.
17) No qualified doctor on campus. GOOD DOCTOR/HOSPITAL IS 20 KMS AWAY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.
There is a qualified lady doctor who stays in the campus
18) They take 1.5 lac as donation for school building which is totally illegal.
We were informed first hand about the donation

I am x student of this school,
The main purpose of this school is to make only money by making fools to parents even donation is compulsory when their addmission is done.every parents need to take very strict action towards the hygiene of their kitchens and surroundings. no teachers or the principle gives any attention to their students the problems which are faced by them. So called motivators who are in this group are only there to make their black money white by showing the transaction of donation in the school funds.
