My complaint against RO Aqua Expert (Vasai East) for deficiency in service and fraudulent trade practices under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
On May 8, 2026, I scheduled a general service for my Havells Max RO purifier through the company's official website, which quoted a transparent price of ?299. Prior to the visit, I was contacted via WhatsApp by Manoj Saini (+[protected], who performed a preliminary "visual inspection" via photo and insisted that the filters required replacement. Despite the website listing the filter cost at ?499, Mr. Saini quoted a significantly higher price of ?1, 200 plus a ?250 service charge.
The situation escalated when the technician arrived on Sunday, May 10, 2026. After a brief examination, he claimed that three filters needed immediate replacement at a cost of ?1, 600. Under the impression that original components would be used, I consented; however, the technician unilaterally installed counterfeit, cheap local filters instead of the genuine Havells consumables required for this specific model.
Post-service, the unit developed two critical faults: the Water Full Indicator has ceased functioning, and concerning air bubbles are now appearing in the output water, indicating a faulty installation or airlock issue. When I reported the indicator fault to the technician (+[protected], he provided a negligent and dismissive response, stating, "The wire must have shaken; no worry, let it be—you can still use it." Despite multiple subsequent attempts to contact the company for rectification, they have become non-responsive. The current state of the purifier is a health hazard and has resulted in product damage. I demand that RO Aqua Expert immediately send a qualified, certified technician to remove the substandard local parts, install Original Havells Filter Kits, and repair the damaged sensors.
