Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against the Principal and school administration regarding their unprofessional conduct, lack of proper care and communication, unnecessary delays, and mental harassment in connection with the cancellation of my child's admission and refund of the fees paid.
The primary reason for cancelling my child's admission is a safety incident in which my child was bitten by another child at the school. We were not properly informed about the incident or the circumstances surrounding it. This raised serious concerns regarding the care, supervision, and responsibility of the school towards my child's safety.
The school has also not provided us with a copy of the admission acceptance confirmation or the EMIS Number. However, when we requested cancellation of the admission, the school insisted that we submit a written cancellation request.
Accordingly, we submitted the admission cancellation letter on[protected]. While writing the date, we inadvertently mentioned the month as 06 instead of 07. This was only a clerical error and did not change the intention or content of our cancellation request. However, instead of accepting this minor error, the school asked us to submit another cancellation letter on[protected], resulting in unnecessary delay and inconvenience.
Despite repeated follow-ups, the Principal has failed to provide a proper appointment and has repeatedly postponed meetings. On several occasions, we were made to wait for more than two hours in the school hall, while being told that the concerned persons were busy. These repeated delays and prolonged waiting have caused significant mental stress, wasted our valuable working hours, and forced us to take leave from work without any proper resolution.
The school has also failed to clearly inform us:
Whether the admission cancellation has been accepted.
How much of the fees will be refunded.
When the refund will be processed.
What deductions, if any, will be made and on what basis.
Furthermore, the school is now demanding ₹5, 000 towards three books and 14 days of care/services provided to my child. We request the school to provide a clear and itemized calculation of this amount along with the applicable rules or terms supporting the demand.
During our interactions, the Principal and school representatives have also made unwarranted allegations and responded in an inappropriate and disrespectful manner instead of addressing our genuine concerns. This has further increased our stress and inconvenience.
We respectfully request the concerned authority to:
Direct the school to immediately confirm the admission cancellation in writing.
Provide a written statement specifying the total refundable amount and refund timeline.
Provide a proper breakdown and justification for the ₹5, 000 demand.
Examine the school's handling of the child-safety incident, including the adequacy of care, supervision, and communication with parents.
Investigate the repeated postponement of appointments and the unprofessional conduct of the Principal and school administration.
Ensure that parents are treated with fairness, dignity, transparency, and respect.
We have made several attempts to resolve this matter directly with the school, but the issue remains unresolved.
If this matter is not resolved promptly and fairly, we will be constrained to pursue the issue before the appropriate educational authorities and other competent legal/consumer forums to seek appropriate relief.
We request your immediate intervention and a fair, transparent, and time-bound resolution.
Thank you.
