I submitted my Samsung S22 phone to Samsung Authorized Service Center - A ONE Distributors, Khanna for a battery replacement. The phone’s display was completely intact before the repair. However, after receiving the phone, I noticed a black dot near the fingerprint sensor—damage that was not present prior to the repair.
When I raised this issue with the service center, they refused to take responsibility. Their explanation was inconsistent: they suggested that a swollen battery could have caused the display damage, yet simultaneously insisted that battery replacement could not have affected the display. If battery replacement cannot damage the screen, it is logically inconsistent to claim that a swollen battery, which exerts even less direct stress, could have caused the damage.
During the repair process, staff explicitly asked for my phone PIN to “verify the device was working” instead of offering Samsung’s Maintenance Mode, which protects personal and sensitive data. By bypassing this safeguard, the staff potentially gained access to authentication codes, banking and payment apps, stored passwords, contacts, personal documents, photos, and videos. This represents a serious privacy breach at an authorized service center.
If any damage from the battery had existed prior to repair, it should have been reported before accepting the device, during repair, or while using my PIN for verification. Instead, the staff only acknowledged the issue after I pointed it out upon receiving my phone. Given the proximity of the battery and display during replacement, damage during repair is a recognized risk. Yet, the staff denied it could have occurred unless the display was opened.
I was charged the full price for battery replacement and labor, yet now my phone requires additional repair due to damage caused during their service.
I am extremely dissatisfied with this service center. Their handling resulted in damage to my device, exposed sensitive and financial data, and they refused to accept responsibility. I urge consumers to avoid this center and recommend using another authorized service center that respects user privacy and accountability.
Resolution Sought:
Immediate repair or replacement of the damaged display at no extra cost.
Assurance that proper privacy and data protection protocols will be followed during service.
