Respected Sir/ Ma’am,
Today that is 15/11/2024, Me, my maternal aunt and her friend were travelling to Kasauli from Peermuchalla Zirakpur. We reached Sanwara at around 16.27 pm. Since our fastag had some technical issue it was not working. Therefore, I requested the toll plaza staff to charge me the way anyone would be charged for not having a fastag. To which they said I would be charged 140 INR. I agreed to it and I requested them for the receipt while I was looking for cash. The toll staff seemed to have been irritated by my genuine request. Three women demanding a genuine receipt from him hurt his fragile male ego. My aunt gave me some cash and I handed it over to the toll staff without counting it. The toll staff did not open the toll gate for us so I asked him what was the reason. They did not say anything but one of the toll employee barged out and started shouting at me saying “tumko ginna nahi aata bikhari kahi ke. Paise nahi hai jaeb main or aa jaate ho” to which I asked him to talk properly and tell me how much money was less I will give him as I had given him less money by mistake only. But he kept abusing me and passed sexist comments on me saying ki tu ladki hai main tujhe batata hu.” He was joined by some of his other colleagues by now. This scared me and I raised alarm an alarm and a police man came on the spot other wise god know what that man and his colleagues would have done with us. He harassed the three o[censored]s in broad day light. When the police personnel came he diffused the situation and asked me to file a complaint. Even then the toll plaza men were trying to intimidate me by saying don’t talk loudly with us despite their own colleague harassing us.
I request you to please take action against the sanwara toll employees and management and specifically the one man who misbehaved and harassed us as woman cannot be subjected to this in 21st century.
