On 11th June 2016, I bought a Puma jerkin (Black/red) at the Saravana Stores located in Padi for Rs.819.00
The price was very less and I checked with the sales people on the floor. They informed that it is 100% original and that they are giving them in offer and most of the pieces have been sold. On the floor not it any place they have mentioned that there is no exchange for Jerkins/raincoats, etc and the sales people also never informed any such information.
In the bill for the same, no where it is mentioned anything about the exchange policy (like how many days, which goods are not covered in exchange, etc).
After purchase, I did not use it for almost 10 days as there was no rain or need for it.
I used the Jerkin on June 22, 2016 (morning) as it was raining (drizzling). The rain was not heavy and it was just drizzling and it was just 12-15 minutes of wearing the Jerkin, I started becoming wet inside the Jerkin on the front and both the hands, etc.
Hence, on the same day(June 22, 2016) evening around 5:30 - I went to Saravana Stores, Padi and approached the exchange counter in the ground floor (right-hand side). The gentleman at the counter told that for Jerkins and raincoats we have to get the signature of the floor supervisor from where we took the product and only then he can exchange.
I went to the 4th floor from where I purchased this jerkin, and was enquiring for the supervisor and they were asking me to go from one place to another on the floor for about 6-7 minutes and then I caught hold of a person and explained to him that have been searching for their supervisor and he again with me searched for about 5 minutes and got hold of a persona and said he is the supervisor. I explained to him that the jerkin inspite of a branded it is faulty and the water is getting through inside the jerkin. Without even looking into it or listening further - he outright said there is no exchange for jerkins and raincoats and started to do his work. Again I harshly spoke with him on this and he immediately called another employee and asked him to take to another gentlemen.
Again it was a search for 3-4 minutes and they brought me to a person and he again hearing from me on the fault, outright said there is NO exchange for jerkins/raincoats and turned his face and started to speak with some other employee and was showing off as he is very busy. Again I asked him why it was not clearly mentioned that there was no exchange while buying this product or why there was no board display near the product or why it was not mentioned in the bill. He was not sure as to what to answer and was repeatedly saying that no exchange and cannot do anything. I asked him to take to his manager and he said we have to go the ground floor to meet a person and asked me to locate that person and speak with him. I asked him to come with me or send an employee for which he denied first and then said ok and sent one emplyee with me.
We went to the ground floor and when enquired that particular manager was on leave for June 22 and for another 2 days. They said we cannot do anything as he is only person who handles all this. I explained to that gentleman what happened and then he said will check with another person and then came and said to the employee who came with me that he spoke with the manager and that the manager has asked the supervisor to sign and give it. Again we went to the 4th floor and took 5 minutes to locate this supervisor and again this employee explained that he was asked to sign. But he resisted saying that he cannot do so and we have to again meet the manager in the ground floor and he will check with them in person.
Again we came down from the 4th floor to the ground floor and again all the same things happened like he enquired if that particular manager is there and after they said no - he said the another manager who asked him to sign does not know the rules and to ask him again and he left me with another employee on the floor. This gentlemen asked me wait on the floor and went inside the gold/jeweles floor to check. He came back after 10 minutes and informed that he checked with the manager and said they can do a exchange but it is almost 10 days and now they cannot exchange because of this reason. I showed him the bill and asked him where they have mentioned the deadline number of days for exchange and he was not in a position to answer and he was repeating the same thing that they cannot exchange.
At last, inspite of spening almost an hour and climbing their 4 floors for more than 3 times - I was not able to exchange the product and I have to come back with the faulty product.
Their buying/selling/exchange policies are not documented properly and made transparent to the consumers and also there is so much of ambiguity in the rules followed there. They decided on their own on few things and their bill is not speaking anything about exchanges and ther is no proper direction how to proceed there and who to approach at this stores. Not sure how to proceed on this.
Hence I am writing on this forum hoping that I will get justice and that no consumer will get affected again like this.

They are not giving respects to us today 21/11/17 I went to buy a jerken there I already wear a jerken but it is local brand I am not full fill the jerken's over so I didn't buy but watch man over there tested my jerken that I stilled there. the watchman smelled my jerken it's not fair we complained to the manager they did not take action on him they said it is rules.In India rules is equal to all, " rules by the people" they did not following self respect I am periyar's fan so "mariyathaiyum suya mariyathaiyum en eru kangal"
