Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam [SSNNL] — Canal overflowing and frequent broken of canal

We, the petitioner, have land bearing account no. 379 of Monje Dhinkwali seam of botad taluka of botad district and land bearing res. no. 71 of which old res. Land No. 21/2 is considered agricultural land from 2-72-12 ha.

Frequent water overflow from canals passing through our fields causes heavy damage to our crops. (We have presented photos here) Every year this canal is broken, we are not getting any kind of compensation despite our efforts and no legal action has been taken till date despite repeated photos, videos, RTI, appeals in this name.

Now the water in the canal is overflowing and causing heavy damage. Since seven to eight years we have been facing a lot of problems due to the canal.

The farmers of further villages like Khambada, Bela increase the flow of water from the valve in the canal, so the canal gets flooded and our crops (about 15 varieties) fail in production. Every year we people have to suffer huge losses due to canal break and water overflow.So we request you to bring some control system or provide security on this canal (like the capacity of the canal and keeping the valve at a fixed point forever as per the rule so that the water does not overflow and the canal is also safe).
