Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Sarvpreet Singh, a resident of Sector 65, Mohali, am writing to bring to your kind attention a recurring issue that significantly impacts the cleanliness and usability of our public spaces. As someone who takes regular morning and evening walks, I have observed a concerning trend related to dog owners and the disposal of pet waste.
During the morning hours, it is common to see individuals walking their dogs without carrying any means to clean up after them. This results in dog excrement being left on footpaths, making it difficult and unpleasant for residents to walk freely, especially in low light conditions.
Furthermore, in the evenings, particularly between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the neighborhood park in Sector 65, S A S Nagar Mohali sees a high number of dog walkers. Unfortunately, similar to the morning situation, many owners do not clean up after their pets, leading to a messy and unsanitary environment within the park.
This lack of responsible pet ownership detracts from the beauty and usability of our footpaths and parks, impacting the quality of life for all residents.
To address this issue effectively and ensure a cleaner Mohali, especially on footpaths and in public parks, I urge you to consider implementing significant measures. In my opinion, imposing financial penalties on dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets could be a highly effective solution.
I believe that proactive steps taken by the authorities will greatly improve the cleanliness of our public spaces and foster a more responsible attitude among pet owners.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this important matter. I look forward to seeing positive changes in our community.
Marking CC to DC Mohali.
Sincerely,
Sarvpreet Singh
Resident of Sector 65, Mohali
