[Resolved]  Mar Theophilus school — money making business of this school

Just to inform you all last year we have taken admission in UKG and we have paid fee Around 61, 500/- ( Caution Deposit Rs. 10, 000/- and admission Fee Rs. 10, 000/- and balance towards Academic 41, 500/- now they are asking / sending notice in diary about Rs. 6, 000/- additional admission Fee for Pre-Primary to Primary School Admission and Academic Fee around 47, 500/- means they are asking fee 53, 500/- for 1st Standard. i think they will charge Pre -primary to primary then primary to secondary so on.

after II tern completed then they are asking money towards admission fee of Rs. 6000/- additionally.

I have paid fee in UKG around Rs. 61500/- and 1st Standard around 53, 500/- hence request to all parents to take admission before please check all

I totally agree with you, my both the kids are in that school only.Just for the reason as it is nearer from my house as we both husband and wife are working. The principal of this school is useless personality, they have not given the classification of fees which is increased by 70% this year. They are having third class management, no empathy/sympathy about students and for the parents. They consider parents as begger and they are doing a great job by giving admission to our kids. Nonsense people are working in this school, The principal doesnt understand that if yo
u are starting school today then for atleast 1 week you should make the timings half so that it will not affect kids and they should not be pressurized. But this nonsense lady could not understand a simple thing. Please take some actions against this school aur is school ko band kar do. They are charging 50000 per student and no quality education and creating a jealous behaviour amongst students. Since nursery they are making competitions rather than giving every child a chance to perform. USELESS SCHOOL. THAT LADY ROSHNI GEORGE SHOULD BE BEHIND BARS FOR LOOTING PEOPLE AND DOING FRAUD WITH COMMON PEOPLE AND THEIR CHRISTIAN ORGANISATION SHOULD BE BANNED IN INDIA. THEY ARE DETROYING OUR KIDS.

Yes agree ! You can inform your incidence to Educational Commissioner or Director of Primary Education or PCMC Director of Primary Education.. Unless such officials are informed .. such school will always play around, business minded, do what ever they want. My opinion...

One of the worst school…. Follow ICSE Pattern & not recognized/affiliated
till now. Teachers don't pay attention to students, whether they r writing or
not and even no copy checking... so student/parents do it yourself all and no
expectations to school please. Fees is v high 40-45 K as compared to best
school in Pune. Students fights within class and teachers many times not aware.
No time management, lot of negligence, system, process very weak... very bad
experience... have to suffer alot but pay fees on time.

Many parents join because it may be near to them or personal
problems but not on school reputation or quality... or their merit. Students
are asked to eat their tiffin on class floor and not bench as Mousi have to
clean it.. additional expenses to them, toilets are dirty - i[censored] somehow get
chance, bad smell always, ... and students are asked to sit down on
grounds and so many loopholes.. not recommended at all ! Highly money minded...
try to save lot of money through poor process, lower staff. First their
convenience, second saving money as much and rest on students & studies.
Parents will feel literary torture everything is DO IT yourself & personal
development of child. NOT RECOMMENDED !

I don’t agree with you.This school is very good. All the staff are very polite in nature. Education quality is also good . Its as per the fees we paid. They are conducting lot of extra curricular activities which helps in all round development of student's personality.All facilities such as huge ground, library, laboratory, nice campus, sports room etc are available in school.My child is studying in UKG and within two months I can see a very good progress in him. School is very disciplined and teaches students to have disciplined and good manners. Principal Madam is very kind in nature and she keep watch on every other activities going on in the school. She also very much keen to hear parents suggestions and improvements about any new process. She is always ready to implement new ideas and process in the school.

I do not agree with you. My child has been studying in this school and I am a satisfied parent.

I have not seen a school so nicely maintained as this one. The classroom are well equipped with both the regular blackboard as well as the interactive learning e-system. This helps the child to understand and grasp concepts better. The classroom are also airy and well lit. The ICSE syllabus unlike other needs that extra effort from students which is understandable.

The school has included indoor games as well this year which my child enjoys. The outdoor activities are also good.

Though a Christian management the school has always encouraged brotherhood and celebrates all festivals, the latest my child was excited was the Dahi Handi, for Janmashtami.

Fees of the school is also at par with most good schools in Pune, maybe a percent less too.

Until we as parents don't work hand in hand with the management of a school, it will never benefit our child irrespective of any school the child goes too.

As a responsible citizen we should also be careful not to direct our negative thoughts on any individual. I am sure there are more better and constructive ways in expressing one's view.

I agree with you Vishwas. I have both my daughters in this school. Have witnessed the school growing every year. The school not only concentrates on the syllabus but also conducts various extra curricular activities to groom the students. Staff in the school is very disciplined and polite. They really care for the students. Teachers are very dedicated and give the required attention to the students. They also provide the realistic feedback. Have seen a drastic positive change in my daughters. With regards to school fees, I think its on par with all other school. Regarding Principal mam, I have found her very humble and polite. On various occasions, she has accepted the feedbacks and suggestions provided. She firmly believes in continuous improvement. Its only because of these continuous efforts, the school has grown in all the parameters like infrastructure, modern learning tools, better facilites, etc. I am assured that my daughters are in the right school and right hands.

I find Dr. Mar Theophilus School, Dhanori, as an excellent school. Really exceptional infrastructure and superb teaching staff who take adequate care for the children of the school.
The class rooms, toilets, corridor, play ground are neat and tidy. There are a lot of peons and ayahs employed to take care of cleanliness of the surroundings, classrooms, toilets etc. I have experienced that the teachers are taking very good care of kids like their own mother. There are a lot of co curricular activities which children enjoy. However the school can not do miracle overnight to the child and make a child a scholar alone, as there has to be parents attention, participation and co-ordination with the teachers in helping the child to at least do his/her homework, inculcate good habits, respect others etc. and for over all development of the child.
Also the fees of the school are not much as compared to other good schools. The PRINCIPLE, specially is highly educated, humble, understanding and co-operative in nature who provides a very good disciplined environment and control which is essential in overall development of the children. The Reception staff and teachers are also highly co operative and well educated. Finally, it is an excellent school, one can trust and be assured that their child is in very good and safe hands while in this school.

Dr Mar Theophilus school, Dhanori, PUNE is an excellent school. Such a great infrastructure and co operative, highly educated, caring teaching and support staff, one can hardly find anywhere else. Particularly the PRINCIPAL is very humble, decent, co operative and honest person, who listens carefully to the parents and provides all the help and support.
Also the SUPERVISORS of teaching staff are very co operative and hard working, take good care of school curriculum and other co curricular activities in order to groom the children. The staff at Reception of the school is also very helpful in providing adequate information and support with honesty.
The teaching staff is highly educated and hard working, takes good care and provide all the support and affection to the children in their upbringing.
The school environment is maintained neat and tidy by the adequate number of peons and ayas. The clean environment of class rooms, Toilets, Corridor, Play ground and the greenery around the beautiful school building is really magnificent.
The fees structure of the school is also worthwhile and not much as compared to other good schools. Children enjoys all the extra co-curricular activities in the school. The e-learning environment also help children a great way.
On the whole, We can be rest assured and feel happy after admitting our children in this school. Really a great School !

What is reflected in previous posts by few people criticising about the school is sheer nonsense and based on bias prejudice.School may have some lackings but there are many virtues and good qualities we have observed in their teaching and discipline and management and total environment is praise worthy.As a parent, I have observed the PTA meetings which are conducted regularly and none of the above points have been raised ever. However I feel the timings of school maybe considered for little reduction as children don't get enough time for other activities

I totally disagree with your comments & comments posted previously. I feel this is a planned vendetta against spitting out personal vengeance.

This School has been performing well & improving year by year. You have very smartly mentioned that it has Christain Management. Dont the School celebrate Dahi Handi, etc Hindu festivals along with the Kids?
Had you not read the School Brochure before filling up the Admission forms? If you were so concerned
you should have been admitting your child in some regional schools, where English is Optional.
There is a proper Transport Commitee & PTA Body who have regular meetings which decides over the Fee Structure. Request you to kindly seek a copy of Minutes before you spit out any venom directed at any specific religion. I suppose this is being mentioned to distract the minds of the readers from the actual topics.

Regarding the Checking of copies, etc .. the class teachers are available to discuss & sort this petty topics. You should not need this platform to mention that your ward's notebooks are not checked.
Also, do not try to represent other parents by mentioning that " its torture for the parents". Please don't generalise.

The Students are nurtured well to face the outside world well. The Teachers are well educated & take proper care of the students.

Above All, you can always seek admission to some other school ( which is near to your home or which is have economic fee structure) so that you & your ward will surely have peace of mind.

I think the favourable comments are bogus.My daughter studies in this school and I see it is absurd curriculum. Nowhere in her previous school I have seen getting homework on the day before exam. Teachers don't have any coordination among themselves. They keep on giving homework and at last it becomes a lot. Further school transport is pathetic. Every week either there is bus breakdown or other problem. There is no proper syllabus follows. Everyday when she comes back from school we found new surprises. After reading these comments, i am totally confused. I was considering this school, only because its near to our house. And don't want to send my small child to travel so much...Parents, who have their kids studying there, please tell if the school has well qualified teaching staff and as somebody mentioned above, is it true that the strength of LKG is 40 ??
Also, if anyone can tell me do teachers communicate in English or in marathi with kids ?

I agree with all the Critics. It is the worst management and only Business Minded. All the favourable comments are surely bogused ones. Principal shall be trained on how to behave with parents. Soon will post the details of what malpractices have been done.

Very much confused about taking admission in school in next week?? please help

Admit your kid to this school only if you want to PUNISH your kid and yourself, otherwise it is my sincere request to you not to admit your kid to Dr. Mar Theophilus School. The school staff lacks care and love, teachers are very harsh lacking kindness which can only lead to lack of interest in overall school activities including studies. Principle of this school is bothered only about increasing school fees yearly, and just worried about the different ways she can collect money and increase profit for the management of this school. School boasts about their various institutions, however these are only money making businesses. These school have not evolved as per evolving society and still follow orthodox way of studies where students are taught by instigating fear in students which is very bad for small kids who just started their journey. It is my humble request to protect your child from getting depressed, fearful, uninterested in studies, loose self confidence.

Myself, my wife and my son are suffering daily after we admitted our son to LKG in this school. My son is not willing to go to school, we tried every way possible however we failed to bring our son to school. We spoke to the class-teacher, supervisor and principle, however these rude people are not paying any heed and not ready to even change my son's section. I made my mind of changing school and will loose Rs 40000 which school will not refund.

Please take this as a learning and save your self from loosing money, time and your peace of mind.

Even I had wish to join the school but unfortunately before interview they say not shortlisted and they make nervous and lose a hopes I feel the administration staffs are very bad and don't respect other peoples

During one of my visits to the school, I had a particular experience that left an impression on me. I remember arriving between 1-2pm, parking my car, and heading straight to the main lobby. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate a reception area for inquiries. At that moment, a teacher was engaged in a conversation with someone. Approaching her, I inquired about KG admissions. Regrettably, her response came across as less than warm. She questioned how I had gained entry and conveyed that admissions had concluded, implying it was time for me to leave.

While this interaction left me feeling disheartened, it wasn't so much about the prospect of not securing admission. What truly affected me was the perception that I might have been treated less respectfully. This thought resonated as I read the comments shared by others about their experiences. It has prompted me to pause and contemplate the right decision moving forward.
