Scott Mcmillan Law Firm San Diego Fraud Alert — Fraudulent Conduct by Scott McMillan San Diego attorney

Address:4670 Nebo Drive, La Mesa, Ca 91941
Website:www.mcmillanlaw.us

La Mesa Attorney Scott McMillan and San Diego attorney Scott McMillan operated a law school out of his small office for over a decade – but never had a single graduate. Eventually after complaints of fraud, the California State Bar too action as the State Bar Report states,

"Since opening, only three students have ever completed MAOL’s first-year curriculum and were able to take the First Year Law Students’ Examination; two of the students eventually passed the examination but each then left MAOL and transferred to other law schools. Since MAOL has had no students nor has held any classes in almost five years, its program of legal education has now been dormant for more than four years. As a result, and as confirmed by the inspection, MAOL is noncompliant as to three material requirements: Its law library is noncompliant since its hardcopy legal authorities have not been updated since 2013; without any tuition income, the law school’s current and future financial viability appears questionable; and its website and written materials offer outdated and misleading information to both the general public and potential applicants."

A Second Report from state agency, it verifies what was allegedly posted - no graduates/no attorneys from McMillan Academy of Law,

"We have had one student take the First Year Law Students' Examination and that student passed. This is the basis for the 100% pass rate thus far. As of yet, no students have graduated from the Academy."

No one likes a cheat and to see a San Diego California attorney like Scott McMillan defraud consumers to pay application fees or work for free is not what the legal community needs. Please take action and be forewarned if you apply to a law school, verify the credentials of the school and do not fall for fraudulent representations.

In Bourke v. Castaneda, San Diego Superior Court Case No.[protected]CU-FR-CTL; Court of Appeal Case No. D057870, 2010 WL 5649933, Reply brief stated in part,

Plaintiff requests reversal of Anti-Strike Ruling, and denial of Defendant’s unjustified attorney fee award of $19, 500. (It includes inflated “training costs” for unlicensed new interns, which judge was no discretion to award) and requests order for reimbursement of costs plus attorney fees for legal support assistance from associated supporting legal counsel Attorney Shaun McMillan, Esq., Attorney Scott McMillan, Esq. Attorney Jim McMillan, Esq, $10, 000 each, to McMillan Law LLP for legal assistance, counsel and services.

What is also upsetting to me is that San Diego attorney Scott McMillan McMillan allowed his long time friend, who was arrested for child molestation, to ghost write an anti-SLAPP appellate brief.

Bourke lost the appeal. As noted in the report the court declined to accept, Bourke is mentioned. Bourke was arrested for child molestation and lived only 1/4 mile from McMillan's father's home.
