I enrolled in Ph. D. (Management) programme of Singhania University, (Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan) in May 2009.
I also paid my fees directly in the official Bank account of Singhania University,Rajasthan and received a letter from the Singhania University that I have been enrolled as a student in the Ph.D. programme and selected a one of the very rare & crucial topic of management for my research. I also got approval for my selected topic from the Singhania University.
Based on the approval letter and advice from Singhania University, I started my research work, visited nearly 17 libraries, manuscript libraries, referred scripts, and consulted many scholars from Management, Statistics, Banking, and Insurance fields during my thesis work. After spending daily 10-12 hrs on this for almost more than 2 years,my thesis was very much ready and I submitted it to the Singhania University in May 2011. Again, I reiterate that I had paid all the fees in the official bank account of Singhania University. I was told by the University officials that the University will call me for Viva within a month. I waited for almost 2 months but there was no call / contact from Singhania University. I contacted Singhania University again, and was terribly shocked by their rude behaviour and answer. The answer was : you have to pay Rs. 10,000 more (Though at the time of Thesis submission I had paid all the fees). I asked why now but the officials failed to provide me the reason for this extra Rs. 10,000/- requirement. I was totally disappointed and frustrated; I come from a very poor family, and to make arrangement of Rs. 10,000 more isn't easy for me. On One side, the official website of Singhania University says that Mr. D.C. Singhania is philanthropist and wants to help the society and hence he had established this University; however, on the other side, Singhania University is charging absolutely unethical fees from poor student like me, not to mention the delay in my completion of Ph.D. due to their irresponsible and unprofessional behaviour. Throughout my academic career, I did my study with scholarships and (also received a Gold Medal in my post graduation study).
I did not have any option and so somehow I managed to arrange Rs. 10,000 in the offcial bank account of Singhania University. This time, they informed me that I will receive good news within a month. I have been waiitng for 11 months to hear anything from Singhania University. I reached out to them by phone / email several times within last 11 months but always received different, sometimes funny answers from the University management.
Now the situation is worse for me, no progress at all and they are not answering their cell phones and no response to emails.
So, my question to you sir, what should I do ? Can anyone help me in the present situation.
