Spicejet Airline & Tata-aig General Insurance Co. Ltd. — Flight cancellation with less than 2 hours notice & no insurance compensation with premium fully paid 1.5 before-exploitation

Address: Belgaum, Karnataka, 590010

Re : Exploitation By India SpiceJet Ltd. & TATA-AIG Genaral Insurance Co. Ltd. My name is TAN SZE MUN (my Dad was travelling with me), had purchased SpiceJet’s scheduled confirmed flight no.SG3310 from Belgaum to Bengalore departing at the above said date and booked under Confirmation no.(PNR) T9V3HT, fully paid with Domestic Travel Insurance on 9th May 2015. I cannot express my disappointment on the way SpiceJet (Domestic Flight) cancelled the aforementioned Flight at the last minutes, caused so much of troubles and inconveniences to us and all other clients who booked and perhaps had checked in by compliance to their terms & conditions, worst that both of the above said Co. refused to compensate for the loss we suffered though I actually insured for Domestic Travel Insurance with premium fully paid 1.5 months before the Departure. I wish to point out that since purchased the SpiceJet Air-ticket PNR no. T9V3HT on 9th May 2015, I had never been informed of any problem with the insurances I added on and fully paid, but just when I wanted to check-in on 25th June 2015 for on-line Boarding pass, I was informed there was a problem with my insurance but no follow-up notice or email to inform the status, OR for what reason it had to be declined, and more ridiculously there is NO REFUND of the insurance fee until today. Worst, no accommodation or meal was arranged for all the victims though just a few and I believed that was the reason the Flight was cancelled to save their cost. What had we being informed was just only to get a replacement flight within the next 7 days, but when printed the replaced flight itinerary on 28th June 2015 for flight from Belgaum to Bengalore, I noted the insurance still there. I strongly believed that this was well planned with very unhealthy motive to exploit the customer and the actual reason of CANCELLATION of Flight SG3310 on 26th June 2015 has not been revealed till today, and the evidence or technical report from the Airport Authority also not furnished to us despite our repeated requests. I must stress that the said Flight was confirmed and Flight Status stated as normal & as per scheduled, we checked-in through their Official Web Site and despite the above explained circumstances and obstacles(forced with no choice to accept the insurance declination as my Dad already had the Boarding Pass printed), I still managed to have my Boarding Pass printed a day before the actual departure date, i.e. 7.40pm on 26 June 2015 together with our Air Asia connecting flight from Bengalore to Kuala Lumpur at 11.25pm of India local time NOT knowing a more serious problem was coming ahead o[censored]s. It followed shockingly SpiceJet just cancelled the said Flight out of nowhere by sending a SMS to us at India local time 6.00pm on 26 June 2015 with an unacceptable, unjustified and irrational excuse of “Operational reason”, at time we were already at the Belgaum Airport. With less than 2 hours of short & shocked cancellation notice, we were totally lost and unable to do anything on our Air Asia Connecting Flight from Bengalore to Kuala Lumpur, worst there were no other alternative transit or transportation to get to Bengalore International Airport in such a short time, further more our connecting flight was flying on normal scheduled status. Despite of strong and serious protest, they just asked us to call their Customer Care Call Centre which really ridiculous. SpiceJet’s such extra-ordinary cancellation has resulted in our missed connection flight to Kuala Lumpur, and caused substantial consequential loss and interruption to our travelling plan, i.e. the trip to Kuala Lumpur on 26th June 2015 had to be cancelled as well and since the next onward Air Asia Flight to Kuala Lumpur was only available on Sunday, 28 June 2015. As this Travel Insurance Policy was unfairly declined by Insurance Co. TATA-AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd. besides NO REFUND of the premium paid till today, it is hereby deemed that the insurance was still effective from the date of air ticket being purchased (9th May 2015) and Flight itinerary being issued, same as other tickets I purchased under 2 other different occasions, i.e. on 18 Sept. 2014(PNR: N59D6P) and 1st Sept. 2015(PNR: R85HPZ), where there was no flight cancellation by SpiceJet, and no insurance problem too!!! Below are unanswered questions which I still awaiting their response :- 1. What was the reason you declined this travel insurance policy less than 24 hours before SpiceJet Flight SG3310’s Actual Departure Time ? 2. Why only informed of your declination of the said policy after I bought and paid for more than 1.5 month and at time I wanted to check-in for BOARDING Pass on 25 June 2015?? This was extremely ridiculous as I bought the air-ticket on 9 May 2015 and fully paid by charging to my VISA Debit Card for this SpiceJet Flight flying on 26 June 2015 !!! 3. Why less than 24 hours after you blocked me from on-line checking-in for Boarding Pass, this SpiceJet Flight SG3310 was cancelled without any acceptable reason or rationale which has still not revealed until today??? 4. Why you did not declined any of my other travel insurances I bought when travelled with SpiceJet on different dates before and also after this Flight Cancellation, i.e. on 18 Sept 2014(PNR N59D6P) and 1 Sept 2015(PNR R85HPZ) with same Passport No. and same particulars and identities registered???? So coincident that SpiceJet also did not cancel their Flight for both dates !? 5. WHY for such a long time since I purchased your insurance on 9 May 2015, you failed to notify me of any problem with this policy while you have all my mobile contact no., email address and emergency contact no. also, be it by SMS, email or call????? 6. WHY there was no REFUND of the premium I fully paid together with the SpiceJet air-ticket by way of credit back to my VISA Debit Card from 9 May 2015 till the date I made my Claim to you, i.e. 21 Sept 2015?????? NOTE that I have not received any refund from you until today. Detailed transactions of the A/C duly printed with Balance clearly shown!!! Lagging for a period of more than 5 months, it’s beyond what one could explain!! In such circumstances, I wish to claim for the Trip Interruption and Travel delay of more than 36 hours for misconnection of Air Asia Flight from Bengalore to Kuala Lumpur and necessarily travelled expenses incurred which was caused by the SiceJet Flight SG3310’s cancellation as stated in the Claim Form. TATA-AIG claimed that when Flight cancelled, PNR No. get cancelled and that Domestic Travel Insurance Policy also cancelled which is serious ridiculous. What is the insurance protection for? And WHY they(both collusively) had to deny my checking-in for boarding to remove the said insurance policy with the excuse that TATA-AIG decline my 1.5 months premium paid insurance cover??? Enclosed herewith all the related Travel Itinerary and E-tickets of SpiceJet and Air Asia, Booking details, check-in documents, Boarding Pass, Flight Status Extracts, SpiceJet’s Cancellation Notice, Repurchase of Flight E-tickets and Itinerary are also attached herewith for your perusal. I sincerely seek your kind assistance and support to stand out for a young girl student and her health-retiree father for this very unfair and unjust exploitation situation. Thank you very much Sincerely need help, Miss TAN SZE MUN Mobile No. [protected]
