My wife was going towards CMR Central exit gate. A person said his mother had vitiligo and used Ayurveda medicines with which vitiligo was cured. He gave his phone number ([protected]) took our phone number. This happened some tree weeks ago. Often he was calling as to when he can visit our house. Also, another person (Sankara Rao, Ph.[protected]) called us and said the medicine works excellent. He said another person related to him (Tirupati Rao, Ph.[protected]) would come home and prepare the medicine. Tirupati Rao called us on Dt.25th September, 2016 and asked us to keep two coconuts (soaked in water previous night), elachi, camphor, cardamom etc., ready for him to prepare medicines on 26th Sep. He said he would come at around 10 a.m. but finally came at around 1 p.m. He broke coconuts, poured coconut water in an utensil, put one liter of coconut oil, powdered elachi, cardamom powder etc., and boiled. Then he said some ayurvedic medicines (list of 6 items - 9 grams of each, 1. Yogendra Ras, 2. Kumar Kalyan Ras, 3. Jayamangal Ras, 4. Balachandra Ras, 5. Suvarna Bhasma, 6. Hira Churna) which would cost Rs.10, 000 to 12, 000 have to be mixed in this immediately. Then our question was whether ayurvedic shops will be open on Sundays. He said this Sai Ayurvedic Bhandar in Seethammapeta, Visakhapatnam will be open. He took us to the shop and a young boy around 25 years age (told his name as Srinivasan and that he is an employee in the shop) took out the first item of the list and said the price per gram as Rs.310/-. This was mixed in the oil preparation we took. Second item (Rs.385/- per gram) and third item (Rs.380/- per gram) were mixed. When he said the fourth item gram rate is Rs.600/- we stopped there and asked about payment mode, as we were carrying some limited amount. He said any mode is possible. The fifth item rate was mentioned as Rs.4250/- per gram. Then we had a doubt. Tirupati Rao, who took us to the shop said he would give money if shortfall is there. But the shop fellow said because his card swiping machine is not working, we can buy some gold item with our credit card which he would give to medicine manufacturers. Tirupati Rao said the preparation is becoming cold and immediately this has to be put, and he put this in the oil immediately. The 6th item costs Rs.600 to 7, 000 per gram and for vitiligo, the one with Rs.600 per gram is sufficient. The sixth item (Rs.600 per gram) was put in the oil. During discussions the shop fellow said if vitiligo marks do not vanish within 10 days, 95% of the bill amount will be refunded, as he cannot run away leaving the building he claims to be the owner. The total bill value was Rs.58, 750/-. Rs3, 750/- cash was paid immediately by us. As we said some amount will be drawn from ATM and balance could be given in the shape of a cheque, he sent his office boy (Santosh) to our house. As the expected transfer of amount from my account to my wife's new account did not take place, we could not draw money. Another Rs.5, 000/- cash was paid to Santosh. Then Srinivasan agreed to take cheque for balance Rs.50, 000/-. We gave the cheque to Santosh. After a while, Santosh came back connecting cell phone to Srinivasan. Srinivasan said the cheque has to be given in favor of Rajesh Kumar.
We objected since guarantee of 95% refund would be difficult. Then Srinivasan said Rs.20, 000/- cheque may be in favor of shop and remaining Rs.30, 000 in favor of Rajesh Kumar. We had a doubt about the actual name of Srinivasan, which could in fact be Rajesh Kumar. We thought he may be cheating his shop owner. Or the actual cost of medicines could be Rs.20, 000/-. Finally Srinivasan asked his Santosh to take the cheque for Rs.50, 000/- in favor of shop.
Tirupati Rao left the shop immediately after medicines are mixed in the oil preparations. Shop keeper said he doesn’t know Tirupati Rao. In fact, keeping the shop open on Sunday beyond 1.00 p.m., issuing medicines and allowing them to be mixed before making payment, asking for purchase of a gold ornament (normally which may carry considerable making charges which the shop keeper cannot realize while selling), the discussions, assurances, stories that Tirupati Rao’s sister and sister in-law used and the vitiligo got cured, great help in avoiding difficulties we may face with regard to our daughters’ marriages etc., when analyzed, we thought this could be a rocket. Another person also told my father about Ayurveda treatment for knee joint pains. I went to my bank and gave a letter to stop payment against the cheque. If vitiligo is cured, I wouldn’t mind spending this amount. May kindly intervene and bust such rockets.
