We purchased a ge 4.9 top load washer from sears canada in sarnia on dec 22/16. Within the first four months, it started to experience problems and the warranty service repair folks have since replaced a belt, the transmission, computer board and the drain hose. There is almost nothing left to replace now except for the exterior shell. It continues to have problems such as it does not fill with water. The last time the service repair person stated that he had serviced the same model three times that same day at other homes and sent back the first 40 of these types of washers when they first came out a few years ago. He said that ge no longer takes them back but will continue to service despite the machine not working properly. Our warranty only has four months left and it seems they will keep making repairs and not replace s clearly faulty unit. I am trying to get the corporate details to take ge appliance to small claims court but no one will give me the info - sears canada, wj barnes (Service repair) or the ge appliance. Seems they just exist virtually with no way of taking legal action. We are going g to a laundry mat today to wash our clothes. Not easy with a family of four. Any assistance or advice of getting the corporate info would be greatly appreciated. Consumers should be warned about this model of washer. I have put a review on the sears website but i do not think they will post it.
