I wanted to adopt a pet online so i searched olx and quikr. A person reached out to me on whatsapp with the number as[protected] claiming to be from an adoption agency with website as https//greenacresrecue.com. He shared a few pics of the pups with me and quoted 7k for a pup and 10k for 2 pups. He said i need to do 50 percent payment now and 50 percent once the pups get delivered. He asked me for my credit card details and i said i dont have a credit card. He then asked me to do a googlepay on sunnyprakashverma at okicici. I made the payment on 17th april 2020 and i was told that the pups will reach by sunday morning i. E. 19th april 2020. Later on he said that there was some issue with the delivery and the delivery will be done by monday 20th april. He said that the delivery team will email the details to me. I received the delivery details for flight ek 204 and ek 516 however when i checked the flight status, the flight was last operated on 25th march and 02 april respectively. I received another email from the delivery team saying that they need to obtain noc for which they need to pay rs 10999 to animal quarantine dept. When i asked the guy about this amount, he said 10k will be refunded at the time of delivery and rs 999 will be deducted. I found this information fishy as when i told i dont have a credit card, he again asked me to transfer the money to him which he will send to the delivery team. Since then i have been digging the person for more information. I did some research on net and found out that 3 people have used this number based out of different locations.

The person says that their local office here is in jammu which again is a disputed location
