Sir, i bring to your notice that the tamil nadu government dental hospital near broadway bus stand serves to treat the dental complaints of thousands of patients who attend the hospital everyday. The hospital op timing is from 7.30 am to 12 noon. There are three main gates for entry into the hospital. But one on the side near tnpsc office is permanently closed. Another main gate toward the broadway bus stand also is closed before 8.30 am. The gate in the middle is also only half open always. This is creating problems for patients like me who frequently visit the hospital for treatment by traveling by bus or train. We are not able to enter through the first gate which is nearer to the bus stand or railway station. Even if we try to enter through the middle gate, this is the only entry and exit for both pedestrians and patients who come by two wheelers or cars. Vehicles coming out and entering inside the gate pose risk to the pedestrians because only half of the gate is open. Recently, the car of one of the staff member got damaged during exit as only one gate is kept open in the middle gate. Moreover, the ramp given for ambulance etc which serve for emergency purpose open opposite the first and third gate which are always closed. Then what is the purpose of these gates. The purpose of three gates is one is for entry of vehicles and another for exit of vehicles and centre gate is for pedestrians.A hospital is a place where thousands of public visit daily and the gates have to be kept open at least till the op hours. Till Dr. Nasseer was the dean, these gates used to remain open. After new dean has taken over he seems to have instructed the security to close the gates after his car enters the premises. Immediately after the gates are closed the entry points are occupied by slum dwellers, juice vendors and mini vans etc., making the entire area difficult for the pedestrians (Patients) to walk. Moreover, as the gates are closed, it has become easier for these people to use the entire area as they like. I request the authorities to direct the college authorities to keep the gates fully open till the outpatient time. Was this information helpful? |
