[Resolved]  Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) — Cleanliness of constantly blocking/choking drainage/sewerage chambers

I have forwarded a mail to Mr. K. D. Lala (Head of Sewerage Department), keeping Mr. Aseem Gupta (Municipal Commissioner) in CC. This mail consists of following details: Respected Sir, This is to drive your attention towards the drainage/sewerage chambers in our locality that gets blocked frequently. Few of the drainage/sewage chambers get blocked every month (sometimes even in couple of weeks). As a result, the sewage reverses back into the house via bathroom and in turn reaching other rooms as well. The latest renewal of drainage/sewerage lines was done somewhere around May-June 2013. Back then, we had informed the authority regarding this problem but in vain. No step/action was taken and the problem remained unresolved. Each time chambers get blocked, we had paid from our pocket to remove that blockage and get it cleaned. But this should not be the case. Instead, their should be regular audits and checks to ensure that the drainage is working fine and is not affecting the vicinity. Another concern to us is where to actually log a complaint. The procedure we follow till date is that call-up a given drainage clean up contact number and drainage/sewerage clean up team comes, cleans up and takes the amount and go back. We were not even getting any acknowledgement-slip. Please let us know in case we have a standard government procedure that would help us achieve this without having external party cleaning the drainage and no funding to be made. Just to summarize: 1) What action(s) would be taken to resolve this problem? 2) Please provide the information regarding filing such complaints. [especially for Vartaknagar/Bhimnagar area in Thane] Please take the necessary steps needed before monsoon hits the areas because it would be huge mess then.
