The Indian Book Store — Complaint Against Sale of Counterfeit Book and Denial of Refund

I wish to bring to your attention a matter of serious concern regarding a fraudulent transaction I experienced with an online retailer.

I purchased a book from https://www.theindianbookstore.in, which was listed at a discounted price. At no point during the purchase was it disclosed that the product could be a counterfeit or of substandard quality. Based on the information provided on the website, I proceeded with the purchase in good faith.

Upon receiving the book, I was shocked to discover that it is clearly a fake copy. The print quality is extremely poor, with unreadable text and distorted images. Additionally, the size and overall finish of the book significantly differ from that of an original publication. The product is unusable and does not meet even basic quality standards.

I promptly contacted the retailer and shared clear photographic evidence highlighting these issues. Despite this, the retailer has refused to offer a refund or replacement. I have also adhered to their stated policy by waiting over 72 hours for a follow-up response, but no resolution has been provided.

This incident constitutes a clear case of misrepresentation and unfair trade practice. The retailer failed to disclose the true nature and quality of the product, thereby misleading customers and violating consumer rights.

I respectfully request the concerned authorities to:

* Take strict action against the seller for selling counterfeit goods
* Direct the retailer to provide a full refund
* Ensure such deceptive practices are prevented for other consumers

I look forward to a prompt resolution and appropriate action in this matter.
