The Match Group — *complaint details for filing against match group*

Address: Hinge, Inc c/o Raunaq Singh Kohli Level 12, Two Horizon Center, Golf Course Road, DLF 5, Sector 43 GURGAON HR 122002 [email protected]

**Background of the Complaint:**
1. **Hinge Ban (January 21, 2025):**
On January 21, 2025, I was informed by Hinge that my account had been banned. When I inquired about the reason, I was told the ban was due to their policy of removing users who are banned from any Match Group platform. They specifically mentioned that the ban originated on Tinder.

2. **Tinder Ban (January 24, 2025):**
Following Hinge's instruction, I reached out to Tinder on January 24, 2025, to address the issue and seek resolution. However, immediately after contacting Tinder, I received an email stating that my Tinder account had been banned.
- **Key Loophole:** Prior to this, I had never been banned from Tinder. This suggests that the ban was retroactively applied without valid cause or notification, raising serious questions about the fairness and transparency of Match Group's policies.

**Consumer Issues:**
1. **Lack of Transparency:** Neither Tinder nor Hinge has provided a clear explanation or evidence of the alleged violation that led to my bans. Despite multiple attempts to seek clarification and submitting my Aadhaar card to prove my compliance and eligibility, they have refused to provide details, leaving me unable to understand or defend myself effectively.

2. **Mental Health and Emotional Distress:**
The bans have severely impacted my mental health. I have lost meaningful connections, friendships, and potential dates that were built on these platforms. Being banned without explanation or recourse has made me feel excluded and isolated, causing significant emotional distress and anxiety. These platforms played a vital role in fostering social connections, and their sudden removal has disrupted my personal life.

3. **Arbitrary and Retaliatory Actions:** The immediate ban from Tinder after I contacted them appears retaliatory and unfair. There was no prior indication that my account had violated their terms.

4. **Market Dominance Misuse:** Match Group's cross-platform ban policy effectively excludes me from the majority of the online dating market. This action is excessive and disproportionately punitive, especially for a single mistake allegedly made during my adolescence.

**Relief Sought:**
1. A full and transparent explanation of the reason behind my bans on both Tinder and Hinge.
2. Immediate reinstatement of my accounts on Tinder and Hinge.
3. A review and modification of Match Group's cross-platform ban policy to ensure it is applied fairly and proportionately.

**Conclusion:**
Despite submitting my Aadhaar card several times to confirm my compliance with their terms and policies, Match Group has failed to reconsider my case or provide transparency. I am now seeking intervention through the National Consumer Helpline to address the emotional, social, and consumer rights violations I have faced.
